Let’s talk.\nKeys to Success:\nManage land development projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.\nServe as the primary client contact, maintaining strong, responsive relationships.\nOversee and coordinate the work of engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff; identify scope creep.\nLead the preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permit applications.\nReview and approve technical designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.\nSupport business development by identifying new opportunities and participating in proposal development.\nFacilitate meetings with clients, public agencies, and internal teams to discuss project progress and resolve challenges.\nMentor and develop junior engineers and project team members.\nMonitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project goals.\nStay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.\n6+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in California, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.\nProven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting processes.\nProficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-related design software.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and public agency staff.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n8+ years of progressive project management experience in land development.\nExperience working with both public and private sector clients.\nEstablished relationships with local municipalities and reviewing agencies.\nBusiness development experience, including proposal writing and client presentations.\nStrong mentoring skills with the ability to lead and develop junior staff.\nExperience with project management software tools (such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint or similar).\nWhy Join MacKay?\nA people-first culture\nAt MacKay, we put people first. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.\nUS Pay Range\n$135,000—$170,000 USD\nFull-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options.
