Acting as a hospital representative, the Project Manager will guide the planning and design of multiple projects across both Mackenzie Health sites in Richmond Hill and the City of Vaughan, coordinating a multidisciplinary team of clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.\nThe incumbent will work closely with user groups to define space requirements that align with clinical process improvements, hospital policies, and operational needs. All planning activities will adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including internal policies and procedures, the MOHLTC Capital Planning Manual, and the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.\nThe role also includes developing and implementing strategies to manage user group engagement and input across interdisciplinary committees; supporting consultant procurement processes, including preparation of documentation and evaluation of submissions; and reviewing and coordinating design deliverables such as technical drawings and design briefs. The incumbent will also support scope definition, and the development of preliminary project budgets and schedules, as required.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProvide leadership and strategic vision in operational planning and redevelopment with Ministry stakeholders and managing relationships with Hospital and Foundation Executives and clinical stakeholders. \nAssist in the Identification, prioritization, development of future development major campus and redevelopment projects; including clinical and non-clinical redevelopment planning, physical space allocation, utilization, and management of moves and transitions. \nEngaging and managing external consultants and project management services. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure needs are addressed and issues are resolved. \nAll aspects relating to campus master planning and long-range site and facility planning. Including Stage 1 Master Program/Master Plan submissions to the Ministry, including coordination and liaison with Facilities teams for infrastructure planning. \nSupport of 5-year Capital Plan, ensuring alignment with Clinical Service Plan; Master Program and Master Plan; Leading and managing projects through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Hospital Capital planning process.\nManages and attends meetings relating to Master Programming / Master Planning and functional programming. \nOversees and manages projects of various size and complexity. \nWorks with stakeholders to address Change Requests, proposes alternative solutions.\nResolves planning, design, issues as it relates to assigned projects. \nDevelop RFP documents for consultants and / or contractors. \nPrepares project budgets and schedules. \nKey point of contact for assigned projects. \nSupports as required Capital Planning & Redevelopment team with other projects as required. \nEnsure projects are planned and designed to applicable code and other standards. \nDevelop, monitor, control and report and be accountable on project’s component budgets and schedules.\nWhat must you have?\nAn undergraduate/graduate degree in architecture, engineering, interior design or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. \nMinimum 7 years’ project management and planning experience required, ideally in a health care environment.\nWhat else do you bring?\nProficient computer literacy required. (MS Office, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project 2000, Excel spreadsheet applications and other project management programs).\nPossess well developed leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a strong ability to investigate, analyze and solve problems, plan and recommend solutions. \nDemonstrates proven success in gaining credibility and building trust with senior decision makers. \nProven track record on similar projects, and a strong awareness of the complexities associated with the ongoing hospital programs, services and systems. \nExperience with various forms of construction complex contracts and contract management practices and procedures. \nSolid understanding of IPAC principles to be considered during design development. \nProven ability to produce high quality reports and meet deadlines. \nStrong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with an ability to understand, analyze and report on complex information in a timely manner. \nDemonstrate experience with hospital and facility operations.\nSolid knowledge of capital budget, facility designs and construction processes and familiarity with health care delivery systems. \nCustomer focus - understands and is responsive to both internal and external customer needs and expectations based on a commitment to provide quality service. \nInnovation and change - recognize opportunities to continuously improve processes and develops alternatives. \nInitiative - takes accountability for getting work done and is resourceful in identifying alternatives to achieve objectives. \nPlanning and organization - manage resources for effective, efficient service delivery. \nProblem solving/decision making - understands complex issues and considers a broad range of relevant information and ideas to identify alternatives. \nTeamwork - facilitates cross functional teams to achieve results and supports team members in achieving objectives.
