The shop technician is responsible for providing competent and efficient support to the shop. He or she must be able to perform work safely, meet operational needs, and follow all safety procedures. The technician must be able to conduct tests, troubleshoot issues, replace defective equipment, and perform other tasks as needed. He or she is also responsible for training new employees and mentoring our apprentices.\nAbout the Position:\nThe workshop technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing MacLean equipment in the workshop. They ensure the proper functioning of machines by applying their technical knowledge and adhering to the company’s quality and safety standards. They work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure efficient service and contribute to the continuous improvement of operations.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n Demonstrate respect for others, ability to work independently or within a team, must possess strong interaction and communication skill, must be creative, must be able to plan and prioritize, must be able to reason analytically, must be open to new methods, processes and technologies, must be flexible, must be able to tolerate ambiguity, must be an initiator of improvement, must be customer oriented, and must demonstrate personal integrity at all times\nDemonstrate working competence reading mechanical and electrical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, electrical wiring harness and control system schematics\nDemonstrate root-cause problem solving to identify and perform equipment repairs\nCoach and mentor apprentices, technicians and other peers on technical procedures and applications\nApply knowledge of machines and machine systems to perform troubleshooting of malfunctioning components and systems\nAble to perform inspection and reports on out mobile equipment\nFollow written work instructions, repair manuals, engineering drawings\nProvide input to Supervisor and team for continuous improvements\nEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion\nVocational Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics, or Electromechanics\nVery strong mechanical/electrical aptitude combine with hands-on test experience working on mobile mining equipment and component diagnostics\nExperience as a mechanic and repair of mining equipment.
