Manages daily activities for a plant's accounting functions, which may include cost and general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. \n\nThis role is based in our facility located in Stockton, CA. \nWhat You’ll Do\nMaintain the plant's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses and revenues.\nEnsure plant’s compliance with GAAP as well as internal policies and procedures.\nProvide leadership and oversight of procure-to-pay process.\nMaintain accurate cost accounting records and variance analysis.\nManage spend to operational budget.\nServe as liaison in cross-functional teamwork.\nProvide adequate oversight of inventory control.\nTrack and review capital project costs and fixed asset management\nOversee monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close and financial reporting.\nAssist internal and/or external auditors with periodic auditing of the plant's financial records and statements.\nComplete all necessary documents fully and accurately.\nAdhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)\nFollow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.\nWhat You’ll Need to Excel in This Role\nComprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.\nPerform complex tasks typically following established processes.\nLead and direct the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.\nPrimarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change.\nRequires a bachelor's degree with accounting concentration and at least 6 years of experience.\nCMA and/or CPA certification is required.\nHyperion & JDE experience a plus.\nMS Excel proficiency\nJD Edwards or similar ERP familiarity\n\nTotal Rewards Offering:\nMPS offers a competitive salary and a dynamic work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth.
