This role is responsible for supervising foundry workers, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nJob Duties\nSupervise and coordinate the activities of foundry workers involved in melting, pouring, molding, and finishing metal castings.\nEnsure production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing waste.\nMonitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs to minimize downtime.\nImplement and enforce safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.\nMaintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation related to materials, labor, and output.\nTrain and mentor employees, providing guidance on proper techniques, safety protocols, and process improvements.\nTroubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and product quality.\nMaintain an adequate supply of raw materials, ensuring proper inventory management.\nWork closely with quality control teams to address defects and implement process improvements.\nPromote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction efforts.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nExperience and Education\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in foundry operations, metallurgy, or related field preferred.\nMinimum of 5-7 years of foundry experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.\nStrong understanding of foundry processes, including sand casting, investment casting, and molten metal handling.\nKnowledge of safety regulations and best practices in foundry environments.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.\nProficiency in operating and troubleshooting foundry machinery and equipment.\nStrong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\nEffective communication skills, both verbal and written.\nBasic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes.\nAbility to work in extreme temperatures and physically demanding environments.\nCompetencies/ Skills\nLeadership and team management\nStrong attention to detail\nTime management and organizational skills\nAnalytical thinking and problem-solving\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement\n\nWork Environment\nThe Foundry Supervisor will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, molten metal, noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
