It’s likely that numerous apps on your iPhone were built or tested in MacStadium’s data centers.\nAbout The Role:\nMacStadium is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP of\nEngineering, the Architect will own the architecture that turns our hardware fleet into our service\nportfolio. This includes our Virtual Private Cloud, storage, and both physical and virtual firewall offerings.\nTogether, these building blocks deliver everything from traditional bare metal compute to Orka, our\nKubernetes-based managed service for Mac virtualization. The Architect will act as the lead for our\nPlatform team, which supports both private and public cloud solutions for our website, back-office\nservices, and customer-facing managed services.\nThis is a high-leverage role at the intersection of hardware, software, product, and customers: you will\nbe the subject matter expert for how our infrastructure delivers our product features today, and the\nperson charting what it should look like tomorrow. You will support and augment a team of engineers\nfocused on IPAM, DCIM, Network Automation, Cloud Orchestration, and Service Delivery.\nWhat You Will Do:\nEngaging with customers and ensuring their specifications, product needs, setups, solution configuration and workflow are understood /optimized from the sales product fit through the onboarding. \nServe as the subject matter expert for how our existing infrastructure - compute, storage, and network security - delivers our product features.\nResearch and define next-generation bills of materials, new system configurations, and otherinfrastructure-level improvements that drive innovation and improve our customers' experience.\n\nOwn the technical documentation for how our services are delivered on physical infrastructure.\nMeet with strategic customers alongside Product to map their goals onto our existinginfrastructure, or define the new infrastructure required to meet them.\n\nCollaborate with our Network Architect to understand how traffic flows through our systems and what impact that has on our infrastructure choices.\nLead the Platform team in planning, delivering, and executing on foundational projects\nCollaborate with our Service Delivery team on rack-level design for new and existing hardware.\nWhat Experience You Should Have:\nBA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field preferred.\n7+ years in infrastructure engineering or architecture, including 5+ years of hands-on experiencewith the majority of the technical skills listed below.\nA background designing and supporting physical infrastructure at a public cloud, or at an enterpriseoperating a private cloud.\nExperience working with hyperconverged platforms for x86 virtualization.\nExperience designing systems that require high-scale, high-performance storage.\nFamiliarity with public cloud capabilities such as AWS.\nWorking knowledge of physical and virtual firewall platforms and how they are delivered as a service.\nExperience designing infrastructure that underpins Kubernetes-based platforms -- storage,networking, and node architecture.\n\nExperience with capacity planning and demand forecasting for physical infrastructure.\nComfort supporting Product in the presentation of technical architecture to customers andtranslating customer requirements into infrastructure designs.\n\nStrong technical writing skills, with experience producing architecture documentation and service-delivery guidance.\nExperience evaluating vendors, selecting hardware, and managing platform lifecycles.\nWorking knowledge of GitOps and CI/CD driven through GitHub Actions.\nTechnical Skills:\nCandidates should have deep, hands-on experience with most of the following:Hyperconverged infrastructure platforms (VergeOS, Nutanix, VMware vSAN/VCF, or similar).\nEnterprise storage arrays and protocols - Pure Storage or comparable; NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel; performance tuning for high-IOPS workloads.\nx86 virtualization and hypervisors (KVM, ESXi, or similar).\nKubernetes infrastructure - CSI storage integration, CNI networking, and running statefulworkloads.\nLinux systems engineering at scale.\nData center networking - spine-leaf architectures, VXLAN/EVPN, and L2/L3 fundamentals.\nPhysical and virtual firewall platforms and multi-tenant network security.\nServer hardware architecture - CPU/memory/NVMe sizing, BOM development, and rack-level design (power, cooling, cabling).\nCapacity planning and performance modeling.\nInfrastructure automation - Terraform, Ansible, or scripting in Python or Go - plus observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.\nWorking knowledge of CI/CD functionality driven through GitOps tooling.\nNice To Have:\nFamiliarity with macOS or Apple silicon hardware.\nExperience operating infrastructure across multiple data centers.\nWhat you will get:\nThe opportunity to work with an early stage company that has proven to be the leader in Mac cloud solutions, supporting the developer teams of iOS and macOS apps you use everyday.\nThe opportunity to work with an early-stage company that has proven to be the leader in Machosting solutions with people that are excited to come to work every day.\n\nAvailability to work at our Tower Place office in Buckhead, or ability to work remotely from anywhere.\nCompetitive pay, benefits, and free shuttle to MARTA.\nCompensation Range: $175,000 - $200,000 annually.___________________________________________________________________________________\nMacStadium has a defined Information Security Policy and all employees are required to adhere to this policy and sign an acknowledgment and receipt of this policy upon hire.\nAll offers of employment are conditioned upon successful completion of a background screening process and all employees must comply with the immigration rules and laws in the jurisdiction in which he/she/they will provide MacStadium services.\nMacStadium is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
