Many of Macy’s top executives started their careers in part-time retail sales roles, or as recent college graduates into our development programs in the various functions at Macy’s.\nJob Overview\nAs a Visitor Center Professional at Macy’s you are the most critical link in ensuring that our visiting National and International customer’s experience in our store is nothing less than Magical.\nEssential Functions\nProvide concierge-style service at all times including in-store directions, product information, guest services information and sales; accountable for performing register transactions and participating in the daily opening and closing sales process\nLearn and maintain current knowledge of store’s services, layout, products, marketing programs and media plans\nCommitment to building customer relationships\nAssist with driving sales, marketing shopping packages and group tours\nAccountable for visitor center tracking, reporting, ordering and distribution of materials (including 10% savings coupons in store)\nManage convention group business, including solicitation, follow-up and shipment of collateral\nAssist with in-store and external Tourism related events as needed\nDependable attendance and punctuality \nQualifications and Competencies\nNo Education or Experience Required\nStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers\nResourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities \nResourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities\nAbility to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays\nPrior experience in sales, administrative, or travel/hospitality preferred\nKnowledge of a second language helpful\nExceptional customer service skills\nPresent a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values\nPhysical Requirements\nPosition requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department\nMay involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders\nFrequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment\nFrequently lift/move up to 25lbs\nThis job description is not all-inclusive and may not apply to colleagues covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
