Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.\nJob Overview\nThe Director, Operations directs the day-to-day Inbound and/or Outbound operations. In conjunction with other members of the senior executive staff, they lead short and long-term strategic planning of the operations to ensure all facility and organizational goals and objectives are achieved.\nThe schedule for this shift is Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30 PM.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead the direction of both Inbound and Outbound operations, ensuring they meet or surpass targets such as Units Per Hour (UPH), Cartons Per Unit (CPU), Service on Time (SOT), and Fill Rate goals. \nProvide coaching and guidance to executive team members and oversee colleague counseling and coaching activities. \nEnsure departments meet or exceed performance standards in safety, cost control, quality, processing efficiency, reliability, and customer service. \nDevelop and implement short and long-term strategies to improve profitability, productivity, and efficiency across operations. \nContinuously assess work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement improvements. \nCultivate a work culture dedicated to superior customer service. \nEstablish and uphold procedures and metrics to ensure customer satisfaction levels are met. \nDrive and manage organizational growth-related changes. \nAnalyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to gauge department progress toward goals. \nDevelop training programs and ensure colleague comprehension and adherence. \nFoster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. \nFoster a safe work environment and enforce safety protocols. \nCollaborate with operational leaders to anticipate staffing needs based on volume plans, creating and utilizing staffing tools to adapt to changes in business demand. \nPerform additional duties, special projects, or assignments as needed. \nSkills You Will Need\nLeadership: Ability to lead and direct both Inbound and Outbound operations, setting and surpassing targets while ensuring alignment with facility and organizational goals.\nCoaching: Provide effective coaching and guidance to executive team members and colleagues to foster growth and development.\nCommunication: Practicing open and continuous communication, effectively presenting information in a clear and concise manner to keep others informed.\nProblem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve problems promptly and effectively, addressing issues directly as they arise.\nTechnical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access) and experience summarizing data and outlining directions.\nIndustry Understanding: Business and intellectual competencies including a strong understanding of warehouse management and supply chain/logistics trends.\nStrategic Execution: Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies to achieve desired outcomes.\nWho You Are\nDedicated to fulfilling ideals of diversity, inclusion, and respect that Macy’s aspires to achieve every day in every way. \nCandidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of related experience. \nThis position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level.
