Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.\nJob Overview\nThe Maintenance Engineer II maintains the physical structure and equipment of the store, ensuring they remain in good working order. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance as well as emergency, corrective, and routine repairs on electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and HVAC systems.\nFull-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found here.\nWhat We Can Offer You\nMaintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems, along with associated equipment, to maximize efficiency.\nPerform emergency, corrective, and routine repairs on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems, ensuring optimal functionality.\nConduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems according to the established schedule.\nKeep accurate records of all inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as local fire marshal requirements.\nMaintain EPA Universal Certification and stay updated on all relevant legislation, including EPA regulations and South Coast Air Quality District regulations related to “CFC” and refrigerant handling laws.\nFollow shortage control programs and procedures.\nDemonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.\nIn addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.\nFoster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.\nSkills You Will Need\nTechnical Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.\nRegulatory Compliance: Familiarity with state and federal regulations, local fire marshal requirements, and EPA/South Coast Air Quality District regulations regarding refrigerant handling.\nEPA Certification & Licensing: Must have an EPA Universal Certification and a license (preferred) with in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems.\nSafety Awareness: Understanding of personnel safety procedures and safety engineering codes to maintain a secure work environment.\nProblem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently while adjusting to changing priorities.\nCommunication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with the Chief Engineer, Store Management, and team members.\nRecord-Keeping & Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs for compliance and operational tracking.\nDependability & Initiative: A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and accountability in all responsibilities.\nWho You Are\nThis position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. \nInvolves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders\nMay involve reaching above eye level\nRequires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment\nAble to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations, based on department and company needs\nAble to travel between store and building locations\nWhat We Can Offer You\nJoin a team where work is as rewarding as it is fun!
