From daily equipment checks to routine repairs and facility support, you'll help keep our teams moving and reduce downtime across the operation.\nThis is a hands-on role where you'll build experience with material handling equipment, facility systems, building structures, and power industrial truck battery maintenance. You'll work independently on routine tasks, partner with the team on assigned projects, and play an important part in making sure the work gets done.\nIf you enjoy solving problems, learning how equipment works, and seeing the direct impact of your work every day, this role offers a strong foundation for building your maintenance career. To reassure customers, they follow through with clarity and consistency, delivering on promises and making things right when expectations aren't met. \nThey know that excellence is shown by focusing on what matters most to the customer.\nWhat To Expect\nInspect, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, conveyor systems, powered industrial truck batteries, battery changers, facility sweepers, and related warehouse equipment.\nObserve and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine whether adjustment or repair is needed.\nDismantle, inspect, repair, replace, rebuild, assemble, and test equipment and mechanical parts to verify proper operation.\nUse shop tools such as grinders, drill presses, cutting torches, and welding equipment to repair or join metal parts.\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following OSHA, state, local, and Macy’s Logistics Operations safety standards.\nHow You’ll Make an Impact\nKeep warehouse operations moving by maintaining equipment reliability and reducing downtime.\nSupport a safe working environment by following maintenance safe work practices and reporting issues to leadership quickly.\nPartner with team members, supervisors, and operations teams to complete repairs, preventive maintenance, and assigned projects.\nHelp create an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and supports authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.\nSkills That Matter\nMust Have\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n1-2 years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nAbility to read, understand, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, employment policies, and procedural manuals in English.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, office staff, receiving teams, fleet maintenance administration, management, carriers, and drivers.\n\nAbility to add, subtract, and multiply in all units of measure using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.\n\nRegular, dependable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience performing basic electrical tasks, including replacing motors, fuses, and switches.\n\nExperience repairing or maintaining powered industrial truck batteries, battery changers, facility sweepers, or automated warehouse equipment.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.\n\nPhysical Activities You Will Perform\nThis position involves regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking.\nMay occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.\nMay involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nMay involve moving or lifting items up to 25 lbs.\nWhat We Can Offer You\nJoin a team where work is as rewarding as it is fun!
