Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.\nJob Overview\nThe Senior Software Engineer position reports to the Tech Manager, Software Engineering and is responsible for developing and supporting applications leveraging their expertise and knowledge of multiple systems/customer areas to build a robust, scalable, and reliable platform.\nIf you're passionate about building highly scalable architecture and are motivated to make an impact in creating robust software used across the organization, come join us. You will be part of an experienced engineering team and work with passionate leaders on challenging topics.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform coding/configuration, testing, implementation, and documentation for developed solutions, including design specifications.\nConduct applications programming activities, encompassing coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying applications programs.\nDemonstrate the ability to extract, analyze, and report data, with a strong attention to detail when identifying data relationships, trends, and anomalies.\nConsider the long-term impacts of key design decisions and handle failure scenarios effectively.\nStay updated on industry trends and assess the suitability of new software tools for platform development.\nAct as a coach and mentor to junior developers, including delegating and managing tasks as needed.\nCommit to meeting overall deliverables with customers and/or management.\nMaintain consistent attendance and punctuality.\nFoster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. \nPerform any other duties as assigned.\nSkills You Will Need\nTechnical Expertise: In-depth experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, coding applications using Java or Python, building scalable web services, ESB, and event/stream processing.\nTechnology Proficiency: Deep understanding of various technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, stream processing, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.\nMentorship and Leadership: Act as a coach and mentor to junior developers, delegating and managing tasks as necessary.\nCommunication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information and issues, as well as provide solutions to all levels of the business.\nProject Management: Proficiency in juggling multiple projects, prioritizing objectives, and communicating timelines to team members.\nOwnership Mentality: Desire and ability to take ownership of products/projects.\nApplication Development Methodology: Expert understanding of all application development processes, serving as a resource to others.\nSystem Maintenance: Expertise in existing applications supporting the business area, ensuring systems perform up to requirements.\nWho You Are\nThis role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems.
