Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will shape and deliver people strategies that support a high-performing, compliant, and safety-focused workplace. The role provides statewide leadership across talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, HR systems, training and development, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, payroll oversight, and employment-law compliance.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on HR professional who combines broad functional expertise with the judgment and independence needed to support teams across Alabama. This person will manage day-to-day HR operations, lead cross-functional initiatives, and build trusted relationships with employees, managers, and executive leadership. Success in the role requires confidence using HR technology, strong knowledge of employment practices, and the ability to balance employee needs, operational priorities, compliance, and the unique demands of a laboratory setting.\nUltimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOversee Recruiting\nManage recruiter(s)\nCoordinate with all temp agencies\nCreate relationships with local tech schools and colleges\nAttend Job fairs\nSocial media broadcast\nServe as interviewer, when needed\nManage Job Offer Letters\nReview Reference Checks, Background Checks, and Drug Testing results\nOn boarding\nComplete hiring process and enroll new hires in payroll and benefit systems\nConduct E-Verify\nSet up and conduct orientation for new employees\nConduct Time Clock training and review Employee Handbook\nTraining and Development\nManage record keeping for training, training matrix, and ensure all is up to date\nFacilitate required training for managers and employees\nManage Employee Performance\nEnsure all reviews are completed in a timely manner\nCoaching and counseling Managers and Employees\nCoordinate with supervisors and manager on employee corrective actions\nMonitor employee Performance Improvement Plans\nEmployee Handbook\nWork with key managers to maintain updated policies\nAffirmative Action and Employment law compliance\nBenefits Administration\nResponsible for the management and administration of all benefit programs\nRespond to requests for information from Disability, Workers Comp, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and other claims\nSeparations\nConduct exit interviews\nRespond to Unemployment Compensation claims\nHRIS\nMaintain all employee records\nResponsible for the HRIS, LMS and applicant tracking system\nOversee full cycle Payroll\nManage Key Metrics for HR\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.\n7+ years of human resource management experience.\nPHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications a plus.\nSkills/Abilities:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to prioritize tasks.\nAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.\nThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.\nGood understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nProficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Company’s human resource information management (HCIM) platform and recruiting systems.\nProficiency with ADP Workforce is a plus\nExperience with Breezy ATS is a plus.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to lift 15 pounds at times.\nAbility to travel throughout Alabama, as needed.
