Our journalism has been recognized with national and statewide awards.\nAbout the job\nMadison365 reporting interns will cover community news, events, culture, politics, et cetera, related to communities of color in Madison and across Wisconsin. Reporting to the Madison365 editor in chief, the reporter will:\nProduce and publish two news stories per week in accordance with 365 Media Foundation’s ethical standards and style guide. \nTake and edit photos to accompany stories (usually with your phone)\nDevelop and maintain meaningful relationships with sources and community members, including leaders and members of communities of color as well as elected officials and other community leaders and community members\nAttend two editorial meetings per week (virtually or in person)\nAppear on 365 Media podcasts to discuss your stories \nWe are headquartered at the Black Business Hub on Madison’s South Side. We require some in-office hours but offer a flexible, hybrid work environment. Expect to work about 10 hours per week from June 1 through August 31; it’s fine if you have another job to pay the bills.
