A.P. Moller-Maersk is a Danish shipping and logistics group founded in 1904 that operates one of the largest container fleets in the world and has spent the past several years trying to become an integrated logistics company rather than only a carrier. The strategic argument is that container shipping is a brutally cyclical commodity business, while contract logistics, warehousing and air freight produce steadier earnings and deeper customer relationships. Headquartered in Copenhagen and controlled by the Moller family foundation, it also operates APM Terminals, one of the largest port terminal networks globally.
The primary role of the Air Export and Import Specialist is to efficiently manage and oversee the movement of goods by air, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. This includes coordination with clients, vendors, customs, and carriers to facilitate timely and accurate delivery of shipments while maintaining cost-efficiency and quality standards.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focusedImport Agent to join our growing logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating air import shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring every shipment is handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving logistics challenges, and are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage air import shipments from quotation through final billing.

  • Communicate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight.

  • Process, verify, and monitor airway bills, shipping documentation, invoices, and related import paperwork.

  • Ensure shipments comply with all applicable government regulations and import requirements.

  • Track shipment progress and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues to customers and stakeholders.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and resolving shipment-related concerns.

  • Maintain accurate records and databases of all import activities, documentation, and shipment status.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by assisting in the development and optimization of import and export processes.

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Customs teams to support new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in air import freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations is preferred.

  • Knowledge of air freight documentation, import procedures, and customs processes.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems or logistics software.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
