The role works closely with the Head of Claims Operations and Regional Claims leadership to ensure claims quality, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead, coach and support a team of Claims Adjusters in managing cargo and marine claims in line with established guidelines and procedures.\nMonitor team performance, service levels, KPIs and claims quality.\nProvide technical guidance on complex, high-value and sensitive claims, including liability, settlement and recovery matters.\nEnsure claims are appropriately investigated, documented and resolved while balancing customer experience, commercial considerations and legal requirements.\nProtect and pursue recovery rights and support loss prevention initiatives.\nMaintain high standards of claims documentation, data quality and system usage.\nSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of Claims SOPs and processes.\nIdentify capability gaps and support team training, coaching and development.\nCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Fleet/Marine teams, customers, lawyers, underwriters, P&I Clubs, recovery agents and third-party claims administrators.\nProvide accurate claims reporting, analysis and management information.\nEscalate complex or high-value matters to senior management as appropriate.\nWork collaboratively with global and regional Claims teams to drive consistent and effective claims operations.\nWe're Looking For\nEssential\nExperience in cargo claims, marine claims, shipping, logistics, marine insurance or maritime legal claims.\nProven experience handling complex claims and providing technical guidance.\nExperience in people leadership, coaching or team development.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a global matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.\nCommercial and solutions-oriented mindset.\nPreferred\nLLB, LLM, MBA or equivalent qualification.\nKnowledge of maritime law, shipping operations, logistics, marine insurance, P&I or claims management.\nExperience working with global teams and claims stakeholders.\nExposure to process improvement and operational excellence.\nExperience with claims management systems and data-driven reporting.\nKey Competencies\nPeople Leadership & Team Development\nClaims & Recovery Management\nCustomer & Stakeholder Management\nProblem Solving & Conflict Resolution\nProcess Improvement & Continuous Learning\nResilience & Adaptability\nCollaboration & Teamwork\nMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
