Also work as a liaison between customers, drivers, and management.\n**Direct Hire - Full Benefits**\n**Shift Schedule: Monday -Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM**\nEssential Functions:\nScheduling drivers to make freight delivery or collect shipments and packages.\nCommunicating with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and special requests.\nPlanningpredeterminedroutesfordrivers.\nIdentifying traffic problems and issues and creating appropriate corrective action plans to achieve desirable results on time.\nPreparing general dispatch documents for management,as well as pullinganydocuments that employees, customers, or vendors will need.\nMaintain a record of all dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pick-up times.\nMonitoringtruckrepairsandmaintenanceschedules.\nLogging vendor complaints or concerns.\nAnsweringphonecallsfromvendors,customers,andmanagementandhelpingthemasneeded.\nOther duties as requested.\nSKILLS/COMPETENCIES:\nStrong aptitude for time management.\nExcellentunderstandingoflocalandstatetrafficlawsandregulations.\nAbility to make quick changes inrouting.\nStrong interpersonal skills.\nAbility to prioritize and multitask.\nDeep understanding of computer software and technologies.\nAble to read, write and speak English.\nEDUCATION:\nGED or higher.\nEXPERIENCE:\n2-3 years of freight dispatching experience is highly valued.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThis is a clerical administrative position in a professional office setting. The employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally stand, walk, use hands, stoop, bend, and reach.
