We do this through intelligence-led advice, structured programmes and discreet coordination across the countries where Maersk operates.\nWe are looking for an Executive Protection Advisor to take ownership of our Executive Protection and Event Security programmes; co-own the executive scope of our Travel Risk Management programme and the family coverage within our Expat and Family Security Programme; and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives across Maersk and A.P. Moller Holding, as well as designated family members.\nThis role is for someone who leads through structure and judgement rather than visibility. You can balance operational delivery with programme development, build trust with senior stakeholders, and translate exposure into proportionate, discreet and workable solutions.\nThe role in brief\nThe Executive Protection Advisor is the trusted operational and advisory point of contact for our executive population and their closest support functions. The role sits at the centre of a global Protective Services team and works directly with the Head of Protective Services.\nApproximately 60% of the role is operational. You will advise on executive travel, events, residences and family security situations; manage incidents and threats when they arise; and coordinate with Regional Heads of Security, vendors and authorities to ensure the right support is in the right place at the right time.\nThe remaining 40% is strategic. You will own and continuously develop the Executive Protection Programme and the Event Security Programme. You will also co-own the executive scope of Travel Risk Management and the coverage for families of Maersk’s executive leadership within our Expat and Family Security Programme, while contributing to the continued professional maturity of the function.\nInternational travel is part of the role, including support for events, oversight of site visits, and the development and maintenance of vendor relationships. The role is based in Copenhagen.\nWhat you will do\nProgramme ownership and development\n· Own the Executive Protection Programme (EPP), including its appendices, procedures and workflows, and ensure it remains current and operationally usable.\n· Own the Event Security Programme (ESP), including triggers, templates, planning standards and governance.\n· Co-own the executive travel scope of our Travel Risk Management programme and the family coverage within our Expat and Family Security Programme.\n· Prepare decision-ready executive briefings for leadership review and approval.\nExecutive, family and residential advisory\n· Act as the trusted contact for senior executives and designated family members on protective services matters.\n· Conduct individual exposure assessments and translate findings into proportionate, discreet, and practical measures.\n· Coordinate residential security across alarms, access control, surveillance, physical improvements and vendor delivery.\nExecutive travel and event coordination\n· Coordinate protective services for senior executive travel.\n· Plan and oversee event security for leadership events, off-sites and public engagements.\n· Coordinate with Regional Heads of Security, local offices, vendors and authorities to ensure consistent delivery.\nIncident, threat and harassment case management\n· Lead the initial assessment of threats, harassment or incidents affecting executives, family members, or company locations.\n· Coordinate with Global Threat Intelligence, Cyber Security, Legal, HQ Security, and relevant authorities.\n· Maintain clear documentation, follow-up actions, and After-Action Reviews.\nIntelligence, vendors and authorities\n· Define Protective Services’ intelligence requirements and coordinate with Global Threat Intelligence.\n· Support vendor evaluations, RFP processes and procurement collaboration across executive protection, residential security, event security and intelligence suppliers.\n· Build and maintain professional relationships with Danish and international police, authorities and security partners.\nTraining and onboarding\n· Deliver security onboarding and briefings for new members of Maersk’s executive leadership, Executive Assistants and relevant support functions.\n· Develop audience-appropriate awareness materials, briefings, and checklists.\nAbout you\nYou are a trusted advisor, not a frontline operator. You bring the composure of someone who has worked closely with senior leadership, and you understand that judgement and discretion matter more than visibility in this environment.\nYou are structured, take ownership and follow matters through to closure. You are comfortable with ambiguity, able to bring orders to incomplete information, and confident in turning it into a workable plan.\nYou are proactive and anticipate what is coming. You engage early with Executive Assistants, regional partners and vendors, ensuring Protective Services remains a step ahead.\nYou communicate with clarity and confidence. You can turn a complex security topic into a concise, decision-ready briefing for a senior leader, and you can raise concerns respectfully but firmly when the situation requires it.\nYou understand that this is a people-focused role. Trust is the foundation, discretion is the standard and continuity is essential to effective delivery.\nQualifications\nRequired\n· Danish citizenship, as the role requires eligibility for national security clearance and professional cooperation with Danish authorities, including the Police and PET.\n· A relevant background in corporate protective services, executive protection, security risk management, intelligence, police, military or diplomatic security.\n· Documented experience of working professionally with authorities on security matters, or a demonstrated ability to build and maintain such relationships.\n· Experience in at least two of the following four core areas: executive protection; family and residential security; event security; or executive travel coordination.\n· Strong judgement and the ability to act autonomously in sensitive situations.\n· Exceptional discretion and interpersonal awareness.\n· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n· A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel internationally.\nPreferred\n· Experience in a global corporate environment with executive stakeholders.\n· Experience developing and maintaining security programmes, procedures, or playbooks.\n· Experience coordinating with Regional Security teams across multiple geographies.\n· Working knowledge of ISO 31030 (Travel Risk Management) or similar standards.\n· Experience with vendor evaluation, procurement collaboration, and performance oversight.\n· Danish language skills.\nMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
