The role is accountable for operational execution, people leadership, customer and stakeholder management, carrier performance, TMS governance, billing accuracy, contractor costing and payment timeliness, profitability and continuous improvement.\nBased in North Vietnam, with regular physical presence in both Hanoi and Hai Phong.\nTravel frequency varies according to customer, port, depot, vendor, team and operational needs.\nMay support critical operational escalations outside normal working hours.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Lead end-to-end transport execution including Custom Brokerage\nManage daily planning, truck allocation, execution, monitoring, exception handling and escalation.\nEnsure pickup and delivery comply with customer requirements, agreed SOPs and operating standards.\n2. Protect operational continuity and capacity\nCoordinate with ports, depots, ICDs, warehouses, customs-related stakeholders, carriers, 3PL providers and internal functions.\nManage capacity, peak readiness, contingency plans and timely issue resolution.\n3. Lead and develop the North Vietnam team\nLead, coach and develop 9-10 employees across Hanoi and Hai Phong with clear objectives and accountability.\nAllocate workload and resources based on volume, customer needs, capability and productivity targets.\nRun team meetings, performance discussions and capability development.\n4. Own TMS adoption and data governance\nEnsure transport orders are created, updated and closed accurately and on time.\nMonitor master data, milestones, user discipline and operational visibility.\nResolve TMS exceptions, interface or synchronization issues and process gaps.\n5. Control customer billing\nEnsure billing is timely and accurate against approved quotations, contracts, rate cards, SOPs and completed activities.\nReconcile orders and verify supporting-document completeness before billing and closing.\n6. Control carrier costing and payment\nValidate contractor costs against tariffs, rate cards, actual moves and applicable surcharges.\nEnsure vendor invoices are checked, approved and submitted within agreed timelines.\nMaintain carrier costing matrices and rate master data.\n7. Prevent financial leakage and resolve disputes\nResolve billing and contractor-cost disputes with clear documentation and cross-functional coordination.\nPrevent revenue leakage, duplicate charges, missing accruals and incorrect cost allocation.\n8. Manage carrier and vendor performance\nManage capacity, service quality, cost competitiveness, safety, compliance and operational performance.\nConduct performance reviews, corrective/preventive action follow-up and contingency sourcing support.\n9. Lead customer and stakeholder engagement\nServe as the principal operational escalation point for key customers and complex North Vietnam transport issues.\nPresent root-cause analysis, drive improvement actions and support new-customer implementation and handover.\n10. Govern safety, compliance and risk\nImplement transport safety standards, SOPs, work instructions and applicable legal/company requirements.\nSupport Gemba, risk assessments, incident and near-miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions.\nEscalate significant safety, compliance, financial or operational risks and close audit findings sustainably.\n11. Own financial performance\nBe accountable for profitability, cost control, productivity and growth.\nMonitor revenue, gross profit, carrier cost, cost per move, billing status, exceptions and productivity per FTE.\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, accrual accuracy and monthly financial closing.\n12. Drive continuous improvement and digital adoption\nUse operational and financial data for root-cause analysis and measurable service/cost improvement.\nDrive standardization, reporting improvements, automation and digital adoption.\nCritical Competencies\n At least 07 years' professional working experience at Transport Management role (including import and export transport operations) in Logistics / Freight-forwarding Business\nIn-depth knowledge & practical experience in customs formalities operations & transportation handling: container pick up/drop off, data entry in VNACCS, customs liquidation, HS code classification, price’s evaluation\nCertificate of CHB / Custom Clearance and Transport Management Certificate are big plus\n Direct experience at similar role(s) in 3PLs is a must\nLanguage proficiency: native Vietnamese level, professional English level.\nWillingness and ability to travel frequently between Hanoi and Hai Phong.\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, International Trade, Business Administration or related discipline.\nDemonstrated people-management experience, preferably across multiple locations.\nPractical experience with TMS, transport billing, carrier costing, invoice reconciliation and financial performance management.\nExperience in carrier management, customer escalation, process improvement and cross-functional stakeholder management.\nMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
