The role requires hands-on technical expertise across architecture, development, CI/CD, observability, and production support while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nBackend Engineering\nDesign and develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.\nBuild secure, reusable, and maintainable REST APIs and integration services.\nImplement asynchronous and event-driven solutions where appropriate.\nOptimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.\nFrontend Development\nDevelop modern web applications using ReactJS.\nBuild reusable UI components and follow enterprise design standards.\nEnsure responsive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences.\nCollaborate with UX and Product teams to deliver intuitive solutions.\nDatabase & Data Engineering\nDesign and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas.\nDevelop efficient SQL queries, indexing strategies, and performance improvements.\nEnsure data integrity, consistency, and application reliability.\nSupport database migration and data validation activities when required.\nSolution Design & Architecture\nContribute to High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.\nParticipate in architectural reviews and technical design discussions.\nDrive engineering best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.\nEvaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to the platform architecture.\nAPI & Integration Engineering\nDesign and maintain internal and external APIs.\nBuild integrations with enterprise applications and third-party platforms.\nImplement API security, authentication, authorization, and monitoring standards.\nPromote reusable integration patterns and shared engineering frameworks.\nObservability & Reliability\nImplement logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting solutions.\nBuild and maintain observability dashboards and operational metrics.\nSupport proactive incident detection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.\nImprove system health, reliability, and operational excellence.\nDevOps & CI/CD\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.\nAutomate testing, code quality checks, security scans, and deployments.\nSupport Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps best practices.\nEnable frequent, reliable, and low-risk production releases.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with Product Managers, Architects, Engineering Managers, and Platform teams.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and engineering reviews.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability growth.\nSupport production issues and continuous improvement initiatives.\nOur Ideal Candidate\nStrong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development.\nSolid experience building REST APIs and microservice architectures.\nExperience developing frontend applications using ReactJS.\nStrong PostgreSQL database design and performance tuning skills.\nExperience creating HLDs, LLDs, and solution design documentation.\nGood understanding of observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.\nExperience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills.\nAbility to work across the full software development lifecycle.\nRequired Skills / Experience\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.\n5-8 years of software engineering experience.\nStrong expertise in: JavaSpring BootREST APIsMicroservices ArchitectureReactJSPostgreSQL\nExperience with: CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)Docker and containerized applicationsCloud platforms (Azure preferred)Git and modern software development practices\nExperience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Application Insights, Splunk, or similar.\nUnderstanding of distributed systems, scalability, security, and resiliency patterns.\nExperience contributing to HLD, LLD, architecture reviews, and technical governance.\nPreferred Skills\nAzure Cloud Services\nKubernetes/OpenShift\nEvent-driven architecture and messaging systems\nAPI Gateway and API Management platforms\nSite Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices\nAI-assisted development and automation tooling\nMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
