ecosystem.\nThe Position\nAs a Lead Engineer - SAP ABAP & Solution Architecture, you will provide technical leadership across SAP application development and solution architecture.\nYou will design scalable SAP solutions, guide ABAP engineering standards, support S/4HANA transformation, and work closely with functional, integration, platform, security, and product teams.\nThe role requires a strong hands-on understanding of ABAP/ABAP OO, S/4HANA, CDS Views, OData, APIs, integrations, SAP BTP, Fiori and modern SAP development practices.\nYou will also help drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering, automation, clean-core principles, and modern development practices across the SAP landscape.\nKey Responsibilities\nSAP Architecture & Solution Design\nLead technical architecture and solution design across SAP applications and integrations.\nTranslate business and functional requirements into scalable SAP technical solutions.\nDefine architecture standards and technical design principles for S/4HANA and associated SAP platforms.\nDrive clean-core principles, reducing unnecessary customisation and promoting extensions using appropriate SAP technologies.\nReview solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, performance and integration standards.\nProvide technical direction for complex SAP transformation and modernisation initiatives.\nSAP ABAP Engineering\nLead development and engineering across ABAP, ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDP, RFC/BAPI, IDoc, OData and APIs.\nDrive high-quality development standards covering performance, scalability, maintainability, security and reusability.\nGuide technical design, code reviews, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.\nSupport custom-code remediation and modernisation as part of ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation.\nPromote reusable frameworks, engineering standards and development best practices.\nProvide guidance on enhancements, interfaces, conversions, workflows, forms and application extensions.\nAI-Enabled SAP Engineering\nDrive adoption of AI and Generative AI capabilities within the SAP engineering lifecycle.\nExplore the use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot and enterprise AI platforms to improve developer productivity.\nIdentify opportunities for AI-assisted code development, documentation, testing, troubleshooting and technical analysis.\nEnsure AI technologies are adopted responsibly and in accordance with enterprise security and governance requirements.\nTechnical Leadership & Collaboration\nProvide technical leadership and mentoring to SAP engineers and developers.\nEstablish architecture, development and code-quality standards.\nConduct architecture reviews, technical design reviews and engineering governance.\nCollaborate closely with SAP Functional, Basis, Integration, Security, Cloud, Data and Product teams.\nEngage with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions.\nSupport major SAP transformation programmes and influence technology decisions across the SAP landscape.\nOur Ideal Candidate\nDeep technical experience in SAP ABAP and SAP solution architecture.\nStrong hands-on knowledge of ABAP Objects, CDS Views, OData, APIs and modern S/4HANA development approaches.\nStrong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and transformation.\nExperience designing enterprise-scale solutions across multiple SAP modules and integrated systems.\nUnderstanding of SAP BTP, Fiori and modern SAP extension approaches.\nExperience with SAP integration patterns and technologies.\nStrong understanding of clean-core architecture and reducing unnecessary SAP customisation.\nExperience with CI/CD, automation and modern engineering practices.\nExposure to AI/Generative AI-enabled software engineering practices is desirable.\nStrong technical leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.\nAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.\n12-18 years of SAP technical experience, with substantial experience in ABAP engineering and SAP technical/solution architecture.\nExpert-level knowledge of SAP ABAP, ABAP Objects and S/4HANA development.\nStrong experience with CDS Views, OData, APIs, RFC/BAPI, IDocs and SAP integration patterns.\nExperience with modern SAP development technologies such as RAP, Fiori and SAP BTP.\nDemonstrated experience designing solutions for large-scale SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.\nStrong experience with ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation, custom-code remediation and application modernisation.\nUnderstanding of SAP security, authorisation, performance and development governance.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD and automated deployment/testing practices is desirable.\nExperience integrating SAP with cloud, SaaS and enterprise applications.\nExposure to AI/Generative AI tools for software engineering is an advantage.\nStrong problem-solving, architecture, communication and stakeholder-management skills.\nExperience leading technical teams and influencing architecture decisions across complex enterprise environments.\nMaersk is committed
