The role combines deep SAP Basis expertisewith modern DevOps practices, focusing on platform engineering, automation, operational excellence, reliability, security, and continuous improvement across SAP landscapes.\nThe engineer will be responsible formanaging, optimizing, automating, and securing SAP systems running on-premises and cloud platforms while enabling faster and more reliable delivery of SAP services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSAP Platform Operations\nManage and support complex SAP landscapes including:\n\nSAP S/4HANA\n\nSAP ECC\n\nSAP BW/4HANA\n\nSAP Solution Manager\n\nSAP Process Orchestration (PO)\n\nSAP Web Dispatcher\n\nSAP HANA and Oracle databases\n\nEnsure platform availability, performance, security, and compliance.\n\nLead incident resolution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.\n\nManage SAP transports, system refreshes, client copies, kernel upgrades, and patching activities.\n\nPlan and execute SAP upgrades, migrations, and technical lifecycle management activities.\n\nDevOps & Automation:\nDrive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and self-healing capabilities for SAP operations.\n\nDevelop and enhance automation for:\n\nSAP start/stop operations\n\nSystem health checks\n\nMonitoring and alerting\n\nRoutine Basis administration activities\n\nBackup validation and recovery testing\n\nSupport CI/CD practices and deployment automation for SAP platform services.\n\nLeverage automation platforms, scripting, and orchestration tools to improve operational efficiency.\n\nReliability Engineering:\nImprove platform resilience through proactive monitoring and performance optimization.\n\nDefine and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and operational dashboards.\n\nParticipate in on-call support and major incident management.\n\nConduct capacity planning and performance tuning exercises.\n\nSecurity & Compliance:\nExecute SAP security patching and vulnerability remediation initiatives.\n\nSupport compliance requirements, audits, and security assessments.\n\nCollaborate with infrastructure and security teams to implement secure platform standards.\n\nCloud & Infrastructure:\nManage SAP workloads hosted on Azure, GCP, or other cloud environments.\n\nSupport High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.\n\nMaintain backup and recovery strategies for SAP HANA and Oracle databases.\n\nCollaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize compute, storage, and network resources.\n\nContinuous Improvement:\nIdentifyopportunities for service improvement and standardization.\n\nContribute to monitoring modernization, dashboard automation, and operational excellence initiatives.\n\nDocument technical procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.\n\nMentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.\n\n7-10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.\n\nHands-on experience supporting at least four SAP technologies/products.\n\nStrong experience supporting large enterprise SAP environments.\n\nExperience working in Agile and DevOps delivery models.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nSAP Technologies\nSAP S/4HANA\n\nSAP ECC\n\nSAP
