At Maersk, we take pride in hiring the best person for the job - irrespective of gender, age, nationality, or religious belief.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nYou will be responsible for owning solution design, costing, and pricing in the African (South, East and West areas) region, and where necessary take the lead to:\n\nCapture core data and assumptions that are required to design, cost and price the solution for the customer including the establishment of a process for capturing all customer insights that might be relevant for this pursuit or future upselling opportunities.\n\nDevelop detailed designs for the solution incorporating the scope of services, operating model, resource models, operating cost estimates, recommended selling price, estimated value for the client and draft P&L for Maersk.\n\nCalculate warehouse size based on throughput and product data mainly provided as part of a customer RFQ.\n\nCreate warehouse process flows for key activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch to maximize productivity.\n\nCalculate activity productivity targets to support resource and activity-based costing models.\n\nCreate warehouse throughput simulation models using CLASS software to visualize warehouse operations, throughputs, and alternatives.\n\nBe an active participant within the Global Contract Logistics Solution Design Community:\nCapture and share knowledge / best practices throughout the organization to support short and long-term success.\n\nShare both supportive and critical views in a way that fosters a dynamic and engaging pursuit of continuous improvement.\n\nWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR\nSomeone with:\nAt least 4 years’ experience in the design of fulfilment (b2b and b2c) solutions. Experience in Cold Storage and Transportation will be an advantage\n\nBachelor’s degree with preference for industrial engineering, operations, or logistics discipline\n\nHighly experienced in designing solutions for core warehousing and distribution focus verticals (retail, lifestyle, technology, FMCG and automotive)\n\nHighly competent in creating warehouse layouts and simulation models using CLASS and AutoCAD software\n\nExtremely skilled warehouse solution engineer with a deep understanding of making process changes on productivity and financials\n\nExposure of working in warehouse or logistics operations including implementation or customer solution support is beneficial\n\nInnovative in reaching conclusions and making recommendations based on limited and/or ambiguous data\n\nProficient in English both spoken and written\n\nMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
