This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.\nWe are seeking a Driver Manager in Kansas City, MO!\nDriver Manager or Last Mile experience is required.\nJob Summary\nThe HBDS Driver Manager owns the onboarding, training, certification and day-to-day performance of the Maersk employee delivery teams at a single Heavy-Bulky Delivery Services location. This role exists to make new delivery associates safe, capable and productive quickly, and to keep them. It is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who has done the job.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the onboarding of every new delivery associate at the site, from first day through release to solo route. \nDeliver behind-the-wheel certification on box truck equipment and confirm each associate meets the standard before running a route unsupervised. \nTrain associates on appliance and heavy-bulky delivery execution, including in-home handling, product and property protection, assembly, and customer interaction. \nTrain associates on the handheld and delivery application, confirming competency rather than attendance. \nTrain and reinforce DOT rules and regulations, hours of service, and pre-trip and post-trip inspection. \nOwn safety, damage prevention and claims prevention for the employee delivery teams at the site. \nManage day-to-day performance of the delivery associates: coaching, ride-alongs, corrective action and retention. \nMaintain the training and certification record for every associate, so status is evidenced rather than remembered. \nOwn tool, uniform, handheld and equipment readiness for the delivery teams. \nPartner with site leadership and recruiting on candidate evaluation, interviewing and pipeline for the delivery teams. \nScope boundaries\nThis role does not build routes or assign third-party carrier capacity. \nThis role does not manage, direct, train or evaluate third-party carriers or their personnel. Carrier relationships remain with site leadership and procurement. \nQualifications and Skills\nHas done the job. Time on a delivery truck in heavy-bulky or appliance delivery is the most important qualification for this role. \nAppliance and heavy-bulky installation experience, including in-home delivery. \nExperience onboarding, certifying or training commercial drivers. \nWorking knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service. \nValid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record. Able to operate a box truck and demonstrate the standard being taught. \nCurrent DOT medical certification, or ability to obtain. \nMust clear First Advantage background screening and all customer-required screening prior to onboarding. \nComfortable coaching adults, including people who have been driving longer than they have. \nStrong written and verbal communication, and the organization to maintain a training record that stands up to review. \nInternal candidates who came off the truck and worked their way up are strongly encouraged to apply. \nPhysical Requirements\nThis role is performed on site and on route. It requires entering and exiting vehicles, standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing and lifting, including demonstrating safe handling technique with product weighing up to 75 lbs. and team-lifting heavier appliances using approved equipment.\nSafety Expectations\nEmployees are expected to comply with all company safety policies, applicable DOT requirements, OSHA standards, and customer-site safety rules.
