You will also have the chance to influence and optimize efficiency and procedures in line with increasing empowerment of our vessels.\nKey responsibilities\nPerform engine room watch-keeping duties when required\nPerform work routines in his/her area of responsibility and as directed by the\nChief Engineer and/or Second Engineer\nMaintain generator engines and fuel injection equipment as required by the\nPMS and as directed by the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer\nEnsure that the generator engines are well maintained for optimum\nperformance and fuel consumption. Report any breakdown, failure or\ndeviation to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer\nCheck stock of Generator and fuel injector spare parts to ensure minimum\nrequirements is kept at all times\nMaintain order and cleanliness in the generator engine room(s) and in other\nwork areas\nPerform routine and maintenance activities, including breakdown\nmaintenance, as directed by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer\nEnsure chemicals are used safely and as per Material Safety Data Sheet\ninstruction\nInstruct and supervise in the use of safety, environmental protection,\nfirefighting and lifesaving equipment\nUnderstand the importance of briefing and debriefing to ensure efficient\nteamwork.\nSupervision of personnel in his/her charge including:\no Orientation.\no Health and safety.\no Environmental protection.\no Use of manuals and procedures.\nProper use of tools and equipment.\no Standard maintenance and operating practices.\nEnsure work and rest hour planning is done regularly and requirements are complied with.
