Overview
At Maev, we believe dogs deserve a seat at the table. Or at the very least, nutrient-dense food that’s human-grade.
That’s why we’re relentless in our pursuit of better, faster, and smarter. As the first and only Human-Grade Raw Food for Dogs, Maev has been rooted in innovation since day one. We’re a brand built on the belief that “good” is never enough. That “normal” or “traditional” doesn’t always mean “optimal.” And that it’s better to live in possibility. For us, “impossible” is just a limiting belief.
We’re obsessed with radically improving the lives of dogs and dog parents everywhere.
With over 90 million dogs in the US, strong industry CAGR, an increased focus on nutrition, and traditional kibble losing market share due to lack of brand loyalty and poor quality, Maev is incredibly
well-positioned to combine these strong industry tailwinds with a brand anchored in quality, transparency, and emotional connection.
As of 2023, Maev is the #1 fastest-growing, most disruptive brand in the hyper-competitive category of Pet - and the 38th fastest-growing private company in America.
Our team is made up of thought leaders, risk-takers, tastemakers, disruptors, creatives, critical thinkers, and, occasionally, dog people. We attract top-tier talent from the most successful, differentiated, fastest-growing, and most innovative brands and organizations in the world. We win awards, we’re ambitious, and we’re on the map. We built this thing from scratch. (And we’re just getting started.)

Role
The Buyer owns the day-to-day execution of purchasing at Maev, turning approved supply and production plans into purchase orders and ensuring the right materials arrive at the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. You’ll be the primary point of contact for suppliers and co-manufacturers on open orders, managing PO placement, confirmations, deliveries, and follow-up. You’ll work closely with Supply Planning, Freight, and Finance to keep materials flowing, resolve issues quickly, and keep production on track.
Our ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. You’re comfortable managing a high volume of open orders, staying on top of details, and following up with suppliers without being asked. You know how to solve problems independently, when to pull in the right partner, and when to raise a flag before an issue becomes a bigger one. You take ownership of your work and have a strong bias for action. If you own a PO, you make sure it gets placed, confirmed, and delivered. You’re always looking for ways to improve how we work and are energized by the pace and challenges of a fast-growing company.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-driven purchasing professional who wants to take ownership, build strong supplier relationships, and grow their career within a scaling supply chain organization.

Logistics Coordination: Partner with the Freight team to coordinate inbound material shipments and ensure deliveries arrive accurately and on time.
Material Availability: Monitor material availability against production requirements and proactively identify potential shortages, delays, or supply gaps.
Issue Resolution: Resolve day-to-day PO, quantity, timing, pricing, and delivery issues with suppliers and internal partners. Drive issues to resolution and escalate when additional support is needed.
Invoice Reconciliation: Review supplier invoices against purchase orders and receiving information. Partner with Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payment.
Cost & Pricing Tracking: Maintain accurate material pricing and flag pricing changes, cost increases, or discrepancies to leadership.
Supplier & Data Management: Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing records, including COAs, specifications, certifications, insurance, pricing, and other required documentation. Keep procurement data used by Procurement, Supply Planning, and Quality current and reliable.
Supplier Onboarding: Support the administrative side of new supplier onboarding, including collecting required documentation and setting suppliers up in internal systems.
Supplier Risk & Escalation: Identify and communicate material risks, supplier issues, and exceptions early. Escalate issues to leadership and/or Supply Planning with clear context and recommended next steps.
Sourcing Support: Support the identification and vetting of alternate or backup suppliers to improve supply continuity and reduce risk, in partnership with the Senior Manager of Procurement.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, systems, and ways of working to make procurement more accurate, efficient, and scalable as Maev grows.
