Founding Front End Engineer

The Role

You’ll build the interfaces our customers interact with across Mage Legal’s AI-native platform. This is a true founding engineering role-you’ll make architectural and implementation decisions that shape how attorneys and deal teams experience the product for years to come. The focus is on clarity, speed, and trust in high-stakes legal workflows.

What You’ll Do

• Own multiple frontend architectures and codebases, making key decisions around frameworks, patterns, performance, and maintainability.
• Work closely with the founding team to translate real customer needs into product features and usable workflows.
• Take partially complete or “vibe-coded” frontends and harden them into production-ready, reliable interfaces.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on frontend ideas to test workflows, UX patterns, and new product concepts.
• Partner with backend and AI engineering to ensure frontend experiences accurately reflect system behavior and outputs.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with TypeScript.
• Solid React experience and familiarity with modern frontend tooling.
• Comfortable working with LLM-powered systems and AI-driven products.
• Ability to work in person from our San Francisco (SoMa) office.
