The purpose of this position is to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs to support the production of high-precision components using 3-5 axis machine centers, water jets, VTL’s, wire EDM, and laser welders, primarily for aerospace and defense applications. The successful incumbent will work with Siemens NX and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and resolve machining issues while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry quality standards.\nEssential Responsibilities\nCreate and optimize CNC programs for 3 & 5-axis machines using Siemens NX and other software’s to produce complex aerospace & defense components and tooling\nInterpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences\nSelect appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job, ensuring machine capabilities align with part specifications\nSelect appropriate tooling for each job and design/create custom fixtures when necessary\nMaintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine setups, modifications, and test results\nGenerate documentation to set up CNC machines, perform test runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specified quality and tolerance standards\nWork closely with engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and improve machining processes\nWork with quality engineers and inspectors to conduct checks on finished products using precision measuring tools ensuring compliance with part specifications\nStay updated on the latest advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies to improve production efficiency and quality\nEnsure all machining operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices\nPosition Requirements\nAn Associate’s degree in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or related field preferred\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining to include 5-axis\nExperience in the aerospace, defense, or medical industries is strongly preferred\nFamiliarity with Siemens, Fanuc, Hurco, and Mazak controls\nCMM Experience to include PC-DMIS software a plus\nProficient in Siemens NX software\nFamiliarity with any other CAD/CAM software is a plus\nStrong understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control standards\nExperience in creating and optimizing complex CNC programs for precision machining\nStrong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and equipment\nFamiliarity with G-code and M-codes\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations\nStrong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications\nAttention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of precision and quality\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and potential hazards, while adhering to all safety protocols\nOccasional travel up to 20% may be required to support sister divisions within the U.S and Canada\nWhy Magellan?\nCompetitive salary\nAttractive benefits package\nGenerous 401k Pension Plan\nPositive work-life balance\nExcellent career progression opportunities\nCommitment to professional growth\nEmployee Assistance Program\nFully paid Tuition Assistance Program (where applicable)\nConfidentiality\nMagellan Aerospace respects the privacy and confidentiality of personal information provided by candidates and shall not disclose to any external parties unless legislated.\nMagellan Aerospace is committed to an inclusive working environment and equal opportunities for all.
