The successful incumbent will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining both numerically controlled (NC/CNC) and conventional (manual) grinding machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components. This role requires strict adherence to aerospace quality standards, tight tolerances, and detailed process control.\nThe salary range posted for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.\nEssential Responsibilities\nSet up and operate N/C/CNC grinding machines (surface, cylindrical, and centerless) for aerospace components.\nSet up and operate conventional/manual grinding machines, including surface and cylindrical grinders.\nInterpret complex aerospace blueprints, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.\nSelect appropriate grinding wheels, tooling, and machine parameters based on aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, hardened steels).\nPerform precision grinding operations to extremely tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.\nMonitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain compliance with aerospace specifications.\nInspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators.\nPerform wheel dressing, balancing, and machine setup for both CNC and conventional grinders.\nConduct in-process and final inspections in accordance with aerospace quality standards.\nMaintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports and traceability records.\nFollow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.\nCollaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve processes.\nPosition Requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).\nExperience operating CNC/NC and conventional grinding machines.\nStrong understanding of grinding processes, cutting tools, and aerospace materials.\nAbility to read and interpret aerospace drawings and GD&T.\nProficiency with precision measuring instruments.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to work independently and within a team environment.\nExperience in aerospace manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.\nCNC programming or G-code editing experience.\nCertification in machining or manufacturing technology.\nExperience with SPC (Statistical Process Control).\nWhy Magellan?\nCompetitive salary\nAttractive benefits package\nGenerous 401k Pension Plan\nPositive work-life balance\nExcellent career progression opportunities\nCommitment to professional growth\nEmployee Assistance Program\nMagellan Aerospace is committed to an inclusive working environment and equal opportunities for all.
