Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nKey Responsibilities\nOperation of a variety of specialised tools and machinery including milling machines, lathes, cranes, hand tools, power tools, forklifts etc. \nAssist with manufacturing/building and troubleshooting of large press tools for the automotive industry.\nUnderstanding and analysis of technical drawings and diagrams.\nCompletion of detailed tasks with high accuracy and careful handling.\nWorking with and learning from experienced tool and die makers. \nPassing written and practical exams on all off-the-job phases.\nTraining will be provided for all of the above. Adhere to agreed training plan as required for effective performance of the position.\nAttend all scheduled training as deemed required by Autolaunch. \nAttendance and reporting at the daily/weekly tooling department / group meetings if required.\nFollow the departmental Safe Systems of Work (SSW). \nReport to workstation on time at the start of shift and on return from allowed break periods.\nRemain at workstation until end of shift or until an adequate handover has been completed. \nAdhere to established Autolaunch quality standards.\nSupport Autolaunch by making continuous improvement suggestions.\nUnderstand and adhere to the Autolaunch handbook and all policies and procedures contained within.\nEmployees attending other plants are representatives of Autolaunch and should adhere to the Autolaunch policies and other facilities' rules, policies, and procedures. \nCompliance with Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics. \nComplete all relevant MAFACT and audit documentation as required. \nAdhere to the principles of Magna's Employee Charter and Operational Principles.\nFaithfully and diligently perform any such task that is assigned to you by your leadhand, supervisor or manager across all manufacturing processes. \nHealth & Safety Responsibilities\nAdhere to all of Autolaunch's health, safety and environmental policies.\nAbide by and promote all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations. \nReport any defects, hazards and non-compliance items to the department leadhand(s)/ supervisor(s) /manager(s).\nReport any incident/accident to a first aider /lead hand /supervisor /manager.\nAbide by the operating procedures/work instructions/maintenance practices and procedures of any equipment or machinery used. \nWear personal protective equipment as provided by Autolaunch. \nResponsible for inspections of respective equipment, machinery, and vehicles so as to ensure proper and safe operation (Preventative Maintenance Checklist). \nResponsibility to keep work area clean and adhere to housekeeping/5S standards.\nParticipate and assist in any investigation where required. \nKnowledge and Qualifications\nMust meet SOLAS' minimum entry requirements.\nEnglish language fluency essential (written and spoken)\nTo eligible for an apprenticeship, you must be at least 16 years of age and you are expected to have a minimum grade of D in 5 subjects in the Junior Certificate or equivalent exam.\nSkills and Competencies\nStrong capability in mathematics an advantage. \nFamiliarity with engineering, metalwork and/or drawing an advantage. \nAbility to work independently as well as part of a team. \nFlexibility is expected especially during busy periods. \nAbility to demonstrate good work practices including attendance, timekeeping, tidiness, safety awareness, quality awareness, responsibility, and a willingness to learn. \nAdditional Information\nFixed term apprenticeship contract with potential of a permanent contract on successful completion of apprenticeship program. \nMust be eligible and willing to work the hours of day and afternoon shift. \nOvertime will be required at times. \nOverseas/overnight travel may be required at times to off-site customer facilities.\n\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
