Help us transform today’s manufacturing through the design and implementation of advanced automation and software solutions.\nThe Full Stack Developer will work with the IoT architect, technical product owner and a team of developers (Sr full stack, software, IoT, data science) to ensure the efficient and effective development of IoT software applications\nYour Responsibilities\nWe are building fully connected systems to achieve operational excellence - help us transform today’s manufacturing by:\nDeveloping flexible software solutions that enable IoT capabilities across our manufacturing operations\n\nRecommending best practices for building secure and reliable applications\n\nIdentifying and defining which cloud-services meet a given technical requirement\n\nBrainstorming for new ideas and ways to improve development and delivery\n\nMonitoring metrics and developing ways to improve\n\nProviding detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, external services and internal resources required\n\nWorking with source control tools (Confluence, GitHub, etc.)\n\nActively troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing and production\n\nWork with engagement leaders and program managers during project initiation to understand user stories and success criteria\n\nIndependently design, code, document, and unit test new features for applications that run in the cloud.\n\nEnsure solutions produced adhere to best-practice object-oriented tenets, software design patterns, architectural patterns, coding standards, test methodology, and build/deploy patterns\n\nContribute to strategy for code management and product development, maintain reusable components that accelerate time-to-value\n\nFollow contemporary Product and DevOps best practices, participate in agile ceremonies, work with customer in short sprints\n\nCollaborate with product/project and program manager(s) to present resulting product to stakeholders\n\nMake good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges\n\nWorks directly with the client user, front end developer, and data scientists to design, test and develop new business analytics applications.\n\nDevelop and maintain data integrations with internal and external sources.\n\nRapidly fix bugs, solve problems, and proactively strive to improve our products and technologies.\n\nCreates and sustains processes, tools, and on-going support structures and processes.\n\nProvide effective architecture/design direction to the development team and mentorship to less-experienced team members to increase effectiveness\n\nPerforming additional duties as assigned\n\nActing with honesty and integrity, and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna’s Compliance Policies and Procedures.\n\nWho we are looking for\nMinimum Six years of related experience required\n\nBachelor’s Degree in in Computer Science or related field of study\n\nBroad technology experience across multiple areas: AWS cloud architecture, application development, analytics, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, etc. in IoT environments, preferably in automotive\n\nExperience with multiple object-oriented programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, C++, Java\n\nExperience in relational and non-relational data storage\n\nExperience architecting/designing solutions built on AWS cloud\n\nExperience with container orchestration, configuration, and life-cycle management\n\nExpertise with API development (GraphQL, REST) and Node.js, and implementation technologies such as microservices\n\nExperience with event driven protocols such as MQTT or Kafka\n\nStrong background in authentication and authorization protocols and applications such as Azure Active Directory, and OAuth 2.0.\n\nUnderstanding of React.js and HTML or CSS (front-end development)\n\nProficiency in building scalable data pipelines using Databricks, SQL, and Apache Spark is an asset.\n\nYour preferred qualifications\nMaster’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of any study.\n\nAny Cloud Certification.\n\nWhat we offer\nAt Magna, you can expect an engaging and dynamic environment where you can help to develop industry-leading automotive technologies.
