Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSpring/Summer 2027 - January - May: Full Time 40 hours Monday - Friday\nMissionofthePosition:\nSupports the Gearbox and Mechatronics Engineering team with various tasks including but not limited to: Drawing/3D model creation, BOMs, calculations, analysis, requirements analysis, and process development.\nTeam Summary:\nThe GBX and Mechatronics Engineering team is responsible for the development of the gearbox mechanical sub-system for electrified powertrain products. This includes responsibility through the serial development project for the technical requirements, design, and virtual verification of the gearbox sub-system. Responsibilities also include ownership of the Engineering BOM for the complete product.\nKeyResponsibilities:\nSupport Mechanical System Engineers with product/component design development (calculations, drawing development, CAD, EBOM, DFMEAs, Change Management, product design summaries, etc.)\nSupport Mechanical System Engineers with requirements (writing/editing design requirements, documenting interface alignment, supporting/leading reviews, etc.)\nSupport Mechanical System Engineers with Bill of Material (PLM BOM management, alignment with supporting functions, prototype build alignment, etc.)\nSupport creation and revision of mechanical design processes\nProvide support to understand customer requirements, develop, and maintain virtual validation plans\nProvide support for CAE vs test correlation activities to improve virtual analysis methodologies\nProvide support for ongoing CAE analysis, documentation of results, identify and implement design change recommendations\nSupport Component Engineers with Drawing/Model creation, Drawing quality checks, Requirements analysis, Design Reviews, SOR creation, and Sub-System BOM creation.\nSupports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).\nMaintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.\nAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nRequirementsandQualifications:\nMinimum 3.0 GPA required.\nEnrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.\nUnderstand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design.\nWorking knowledge in computer based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment.\nHealth&Safety/MagnaStandards/AdditionalRequirements:\nPractice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.\nFollow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.\nSupports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).\nDrive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.\nComply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.\nHealth & Safety responsibilities: Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.\n Report unsafe conditions immediately.\n Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.\n Follow safety rules.\n Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.\n Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.\n\nCreate a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.\nDevelop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.\nTreat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.\nComplete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nComply with Magna’s information and data protection policies\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
