Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSalary Range: $68,000 to $83,000\nScope of Position\nTo help deliver a capable process to production utilizing all the necessary industrial engineering and plant layout fundamentals, which provides them with the ability to make quality parts in a safe manner within the quoted cycle time. To utilize Key Performance Indicators to maintain our production standards and drive continuous improvement to improve overall line performance, part quality and profitability.\nMinimum Requirements\nCollege diploma or university degree in the mechanical engineering field.\nMinimum 1-2 years related experience in the automotive field.\nMinimum 1-2 years’ experience with the latest CAD software modules: design and layout.\nEffective communication skills both within the company and dealing directly with customers and suppliers.\nIn depth knowledge of process improvement tools, product design techniques, mechanical drawing standards and GD&T.\nTeam player.\nCapable of utilizing cycle time counts for part processing including part flow.\nLean techniques.\nKnowledge of CNC machining and aluminum processing.\nExperience with assembly would be considered an asset.\nJob Specific Responsibilities\nDesigning new packaging requirements based on customer functional, appearance, strength, reliability, durability requirements.\nModifying design of existing plant layout based on internal/external customer requirements.\nUtilizing product/process design techniques such as Cycle Time Charting, FMEA, Design, Design for Manufacturing, Design of Experiment.\nProviding prompt and efficient customer service pertaining to product design for manufacturability.\nMaintaining a thorough knowledge of product design techniques and all CAD software systems.\nExchanging data with customers and suppliers.\nKeeping appropriate records of all pertinent data files.\nEvaluating inspection reports utilizing CAD software and electronic part model data.\nStaying current with improvements in all uptime/downtime processing systems.\nInitiating and driving justification for upgrades to processing, equipment and WIP, to enhance performance of system and value to the customer.\nProvide expertise in industrial engineering and process design to other departments.\nAssist in development of engineering department procedures related to design and electronic design database and maintain strict adherence to company and engineering department regulations and procedures.\nParticipates in Continuous Improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis.\nGeneral Responsibilities\nWork with minimal supervision.\nEnsure that he/she is in full compliance of the laws of Ontario and/or any other location while representing Deco Automotive during the use of any Deco Automotive provided equipment.\nWork within the guidelines of the Deco Associate Handbook.\nCommitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.\nIATF16949 and ISO14001 awareness and adherence.\nAccepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines.\nResponsible for good housekeeping in your area.\nOther duties as may be required.\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
