Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nPOSITION SUMMARY: To increase uptime, throughput, efficiency and quality, through the process of maintaining, designing, developing and continuously improving our equipment and the utilization of technology to ensure the best quality parts are produced\nThis position has been posted to fill existing vacancies.\nPOSITION SALARY:\n$47.66 CAD Hourly\nAfternoon Shift Premium $0.85 per hour\nMidnight Shift Premium $1.35 per hour\nThis range reflects only the base salary and does not include other components of our total compensation package, such as the Continuous Improvement Program, GRRSP Matching, MBC Program, and other variable benefits.\nWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR :\nGrade 12 diploma or equivalent.\n\nElectrical Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A).\n\nFacilities Department Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A) only.\n\nYOUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum two years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician preferred.\n\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nRead and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.\n\nInstall, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.\n\nEvaluate and improve our processes for uptime and repeatability.\n\nEvaluate downtime situations for root cause and identify potential risks to similar process.\n\nComplete preventative maintenance on equipment and keep maintenance records to identify weakness in design.\n\nAssist in developing and/or updating preventive maintenance procedures.\n\nMonitor and participate in ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality and Productivity) are being achieved.\n\nCommunicate information throughout shift and at shift exchange.\n\nCo-ordinate activities of apprentices, helpers and assigned contractors.\n\nSupport cross-functional repairs to equipment that includes Electrical, Mechanical, and Tooling provided it could be done safely.\n\nTroubleshoot safety devices.\n\nTroubleshoot equipment using software with encoder feedback.\n\nTroubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.\n\nProgram and troubleshoot Fanuc Robots and Lincoln Power Sources, and understand the grounding circuit of a Robotic weld cell.\n\nUnderstand various communication networks.\n\nParticipate in new electrical and mechanical designs and ensure equipment build standards meet Formet’s Build Specifications.\n\nElectricians need to understand new electrical standards involving Pre Health and Safety reviews, safe distance calculations, Safety Plc’s, and new robot standards.\n\nInstall, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.\n\nOperate lifting devices (overhead bridge cranes, fork/combi-lifts, and man-lifts such as scissor lifts and genie-booms) as required.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.\n\nPerform other duties as designated.\n\nMAINTENANCETEAM MEMBER BENEFITS:\nShifts rotate every 2 weeks between Days, Afternoons and Midnights.\n\nAnnual tool allowance.\n\nWeekly pay via direct deposit.\n\nOvertime (1.5x) after 40 hours worked (hourly).\n\nVacation entitlement:\n\n2 weeks of paid vacation (3 weeks after 3 years) + 4 company paid holidays + 2x ½ days = 15 days annually.\n\nOption to bank your overtime to earn up to an extra 5 days of paid time off (approved in the same manner as vacation time) (27 hours x 1.5 = 40 hours).\n\nMedical and dental benefits after 1 month of employment.\n\nFree on-site counselling.\n\nMagna will contribute an amount equal to 3% of regular earnings every week to your retirement savings (MBC program).\n\nProfit sharing paid in the second quarter of every year (EEPPP Program).\n\nMatched GRRSP.\n\nCompany paid life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D).\n\nOptional group life insurance and critical illness insurance for self and spouse.\n\nSafety shoe, prescription safety glasses and custom molded earplug allowance.\n\nCompany paid uniforms (if you choose to use).\n\nCompany BBQ, holiday parties and company events.\n\nCorporate social responsibility initiatives - 6k for water walk, support local charities (Hospice of Elgin, Adopt a Family (12 in total), STEGH), Children’s Health Foundation and many more).\n\nMagna Service Award Program.\n\nRoger’s and Bell cellphone data plan available - as low as $50/month!\n\nSubsidized cafeteria with daily specials including hot vegetarian options - we are known for our amazing cafeteria!
