Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nCompensation Range: $39-41 per hour\nHiring Shift: Night\nPRIMARY FUNCTION\nBuild and maintain tools as defined by toolroom manager\nDevelops new dies; advanced trouble-shooting and problem-solving solution skills; makes changes to meet or exceed quoted rates and improve product capability\nManages the spare parts inventory and its control system\nContinuous improvement\nQUALIFICATIONS\nValid Ontario tool & die maker certificate with proof of valid apprenticeship or master tool and die certificate or equivalent European apprenticeship and tool and die “meisterbrief”\nMinimum of 7 years experience in fineblanking of performed parts, advanced transfer dies and deep draw\nExperience in maintenance and die acceptance in including approval\nGrade 12 education & college apprenticeship program or equivalent European education\nCapable of full construction of new tools; excellent independent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills \nGood understanding of gd&t level 1, spc level 2, metrology, blueprint reading & basic cnc lathe/machining programming\nAble to work independently, excellent documentation skills\nStrong English language communication skills (both verbal & written)\nKnowledge of acad\nCertified crane operator; trained in WHMIS & lockout/tagout\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAble to communicate improvement ideas and tooling changes with European (German) tooling suppliers\nMaintain roller dies and inline fineblank dies according to maintenance intervals\nEstablish maintenance intervals for all new tooling\nResponsible for maintaining tooling documentation (tooling history) up to the smallest detail\nResponsible for spare parts inventory and spare parts availability\nResponsible for daily and weekly tooling inventory accuracies\nMaintain and improve dies to meet the quoted rates\nMaintain tooling efficiencies\nResponsible for new tooling pm schedules to be maintained with up-to-date information\nEstablish and improve die life of tooling components\nSound knowledge of heat treating and coating processes\nWorking together with suppliers to improve tool life and quality of services provided (supplier development)\nMaintain and update tool drawings and redesign tooling to continuously improve product quality\nCommunicate changes with fellow employees and supervisors\nResponsible for die sign off and die approval\nEnsure that die’s are ready according to production schedule\nMinimize downtime through quality improvement activity\nWork together with fellow employees & personnel of other departments\nGeneral\nComply with legislative requirements including but not limited to section 28 of the OHSA\nUse or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing that Pullmatic mfg.
