Our award-winning seating solutions are developed from consumer research, finding the ease of operation to be comfortable, convenient and connected.\nJob Responsibilities:\nJob Description\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Engineer to support our production operations by improving processes, reducing downtime, and enabling efficient, high-quality manufacturing. This role is hands-on, working closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure stable, optimized, and safe manufacturing processes.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES\nEvaluate, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.\n\nImplement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause problem-solving methodologies.\n\nSupport new product launches, engineering changes, and line transitions-including process layout, work instructions, PFMEA, and control plan updates.\n\nAnalyze production data to identify bottlenecks, efficiency opportunities, and waste reduction initiatives.\n\nCollaborate with Maintenance and Automation teams to integrate tooling, fixtures, and equipment upgrades.\n\nDevelop and maintain documentation including process flows, standardized work, job breakdowns, and training materials.\n\nLead and support problem-solving activities for scrap, rework, downtime, and quality issues.\n\nProvide daily technical support for production lines, working onsite with operators and supervisors to resolve issues.\n\nParticipate in cross-functional teams focused on process capability, ergonomics, and continuous improvement.\n\nEnsure all engineering work aligns with safety requirements, quality standards, and company operating procedures.\n\nWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.\n\n2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).\n\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving (A3, 8D, 5Why).\n\nAbility to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.\n\nExperience with process documentation and continuous improvement tools.\n\nStrong analytical and hands-on troubleshooting abilities.\n\nExperience in high-volume assembly or automotive seating/manufacturing.\n\nFamiliarity with PLCs, automation equipment, or vision systems.\n\nProficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).\n\nExposure to MES systems or basic data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).\n\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
