Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.\nGroup Summary:\nThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.\nRecognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.\nJob Responsibilities:\nHOURLY:\n$21.60 - $26.46\nVACANCY STATUS:\nImmediate, Open Position\nPOSITION TYPE : WINTER TERM, SUMMER TERM & FALL TERM (12 Month Term)\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nImplement continuous improvement projects to address quality, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements\nEstablish and drive improvements in OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)\nProvide engineered operational analysis and production support to manufacturing which will result in lowering product cost, improving labour performance, cycle times, eliminating bottlenecks and improving throughput levels\nEvaluate and implement corrective actions\nDetermine storage space requirement and utilization\nCreate standardized work instructions\nDevelop moulding and assembly process for new programs\nDocument process through process flow, flowcharts, PFMEA's, etc.\nAssist in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process\nLead efforts to incorporate new concepts into existing systems with particular emphasis on process repeatability, consistency, quality controls and automation, and cost reduction\nActively search for ideas and ways to reduce expenses and improve quality without compromising superior customer service\nPerform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace\nComply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP\nConduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct\nReport all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior\nAdhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards\nAdhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook\nParticipate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives\nMaintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards\nEnsure work area is kept neat and organized\nPerform other duties as required\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEDUCATION:\nPursuing University degree in Engineering with experience in Process Manufacturing (preferred), including Programs and Lean Manufacturing\nEXPERIENCE:\nExperience in moulding/assembly preferred\nExperience in automotive industry and asset\nAssignments in various manufacturing departments will be considered an asset\nExperience with automation controls, mechanical and process engineering considered a plus\nExperience in automotive industry an asset\nSKILLS:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nStrong leadership skills are essential\nProficient in AutoCAD\nThinks conceptually and intuitively from a lean prospective\nDrives for continuous improvement\nComputer literate in word and spreadsheet programs\nDemonstrated ability to effectively solve problems\nStrong interpersonal skills\nWell-developed organizational and time management skills\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
