Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nAt Modatek Systems (a division of Magna International) the Materials Coordinator is responsible for the flow of material in and out of the plant for the purpose of maintaining normal production to meet customer needs\nHourly Range: $30.43 - $34.15\nJOB REQUIREMENTS:\nPost-secondary education in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management is an asset\nOne (1) year of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive\nStrong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills\nAbility to meet deadlines, multiple demands and support multiple production planning programs\nStrong computer skills required, as well as knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and carrier management system (CMS)\nExcellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills\nAbility to uphold confidentiality\nDemonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment\nAbility to work overtime to meet customer needs\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCreates, monitors and modifies daily shipping schedules, in accordance with customer demands\nCoordinates shipping schedules with logistics companies and truck drivers as required\nObtains transportation quotes for production and/or non-production shipments\nExpedites material as required by Planners or production requirements\nCommunicates with logistics companies to ensure the on-time delivery of material, both to and from Modatek Systems\nEnsures that shipping documentation is prepared in accordance with Modatek procedures\nSends and monitors Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and maintains all cumulative records\nMonitors vendor releases and on-line inventories to ensure that Modatek is up to schedule, and that production lines are covered\nMaintains customer routings, monitors and reports carrier performance issues\nMaintains record retentions of Bill of Lading (BOL) and Customs documentation\nIssues reports as assigned and contributes various studies as required.\nSupports production planning functions during off shifts and utilizes information provided to make material scheduling decisions in accordance with the Modatek Material planning procedures\nProvides coverage for Material Planners or other Material Coordinators to balance workload or as required\nInvestigates issues, and develops and implements solutions\nUpdates TS documents when changes occur to procedures that are implemented\nPromotes continuous improvement of material processes\nFollows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e., IATF16949, ISO14001)\nPerforms other duties as required\nWORK AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:\nWorks in a manufacturing environment, and will be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise\nShift: Days & Afternoons rotating \nPhysically able to perform the essential duties of the position\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
