Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.\nJob Responsibilities:\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nSupports manufacturing in maintaining equipment and tools needed in daily operation. Perform routine as well as emergency mechanical and electrical repairs including preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment problems, repairing equipment, Installation of equipment. Maintains recordkeeping as required to maintain integrity of work performed. Work may involve irregular work schedules, exposure to chemicals, high voltage from electrostatic equipment, loud noise, and hazardous waste.\nKEY FUNCITONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstalls, repairs, rebuilds, and maintains precision machine and production tools and equipment.\nDiagnoses machine malfunctions and difficulties, then plans and implements actions necessary to return equipment to operation and prevent future breakdowns.\nRebuilds machines and overhauls troublesome components. (Included in #1)\nReads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals to perform safe and effective repairs.\nFabricates parts with or without sketches and prints using lathe, mill, drill press and welder. Operates testing equipment, power tools, hand tools, torches, welders, and precision measuring instruments.\nPerforms skilled operations such as fitting and aligning of bearings, spindles, and shafts. Fits, aligns, and calibrates measuring devices and feeding mechanisms.\nLeads machine tool and processing equipment installation and relocation efforts. Performs erecting, leveling, fitting, and aligning actions necessary for safe and effective installation.\nTroubleshoots basic electrical and PLC problems.\nRoutinely contacts suppliers or manufacturers on part information, repair issues, improvement needs and shipping instructions.\nAssists other maintenance team members in meeting department requirements. Serves as a resource to production, engineering, and other plant personnel.\nMaintains and improves knowledge and skill requirements in all maintenance required trade areas.\nMaintains user knowledge of tools, testing equipment, measuring instruments, conveyance, and material handling equipment. (Included in #11)\nUses PC to update data bases and retrieve information.\nSafely operates company vehicles, conveyance, and material handling equipment.\nCompletes appropriate paperwork, machine documentation and preventative maintenance records.\nMaintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\nTrains and guides work of apprentices.\nPerforms all job functions abiding by the office/work standards as outlined in the company handbook.\nPerforms all job functions in a safe, healthful, and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook.\nEnsure proper handling, labeling, packaging, storage, and disposal of hazardous and regulated wastes including used oil and aerosol can waste.\nAssist in spill cleanup as needed.\nDisposes of waste paint solids to satellite accumulation area. Occasionally transports hazardous waste from satellite accumulation to 90-day accumulation area.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nMust obtain and maintain a valid powered industrial truck operator permit and a State of Michigan driver’s License.\nMust be able to work with a minimum of supervision and guidance.\nRequires competent use of judgment, organization, initiative, teamwork, creativity, problem solving and commitment to tasks.\nMust be able to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and have a strong understanding of the systems.\nRequires bending, heavy lifting, reaching, working in cramped and confined spaces.\nMust be able to provide a valid contact number for off hours, work flexible hours, including weekends.\nCommitment to continuous learning.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nHold a journeyman’s card\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
