In this role, you’ll work hands-on with paint equipment, robotic applications, process parameters, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to keep our operation running at its best.\nImportant Note\nOur facility is proudly nicotine-free, both professionally and personally. Nicotine and 10-panel drug screenings are part of the pre-employment process.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nYou’ll work directly with the Paint Process team to keep our paint line running smoothly by:\nSupporting daily paint process and maintenance activities while helping the department achieve its safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals.\nOperating and optimizing paint process and application equipment in accordance with established control plans and customer quality requirements.\nTroubleshooting product, process, and quality issues; clearly communicate and document findings in accordance with TS-16949 requirements.\nIdentifying opportunities for error-proofing and develop solutions that prevent quality issues before they occur.\nVerifying that corrective actions are effective and update control plans and related documentation as required.\nDeveloping, implementing, verifying, and documenting equipment parameter settings to maintain consistent paint quality.\nMonitoring process capability and key performance trends, preparing reports and analysis for management.\nProgramming and optimizing robotic paint paths, including pathwork, application parameters, carrier density, part orientation, and other variables that affect paint transfer efficiency and product quality.\nPartnering with the robot technician team to resolve process and mechanical issues.\nWorking closely with paint line personnel to implement process improvements and complete assigned projects.\nCollaborating with paint suppliers to optimize material usage, evaluate formulation compatibility, and address paint performance and quality concerns.\nWorking with equipment suppliers to collect and analyze application and performance data when evaluating new paint technologies.\nPartnering with cleaning suppliers to test new processes and products and optimize system performance.\nParticipating in continuous improvement teams and help identify opportunities to make our processes safer, more efficient, and more consistent.\nAssisting with the development and maintenance of FMEAs, control plans, and TS-16949 documentation.Take on other responsibilities and projects as assigned.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe’re searching for someone who is:\nPrevious experience in automotive finishing and robotic paint systems is required.\nExperience with industrial controls, computer technology, and programming is a plus.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to work effectively with production teams, technicians, engineers, suppliers, and other partners.\nA continuous-improvement mindset with a focus on finding practical, lasting solutions.\nAutomotive manufacturing experience is a bonus!\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong computer skills and proficiency with the Windows platform.\nAbility to successfully pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test annually.\nBachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.Up to 5 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.\nCandidates combining relevant work experience with current progress toward an engineering degree will also be considered.\n\nWhy Work at Magna?\nAt Magna you’re not just taking a job, you’re building a career with a global automotive leader.\nBenefits & Perks\n401(k) + Company Match\nHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance\nPaid Time Off\nTuition Reimbursement\nEmployee Discounts\nReferral Program\nProfessional Development Assistance\nLife Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program\nSchedule\nMonday-Friday, 1st shift\n*Weekends as needed\nLocation\nIn-person\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
