Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.\nGroup Summary:\nThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.\nRecognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.\nJob Responsibilities:\nGeneral Job Duties\nLead continuous process improvement within Production Control while coordinating customer demand, supplier requirements, electronic data interchange (EDI), and production scheduling. Empower the team to identify inefficiencies, solve recurring problems, and sustain improvements that strengthen material flow, inventory accuracy, production reliability, and customer delivery.\nSpecific Job Duties\nReview customer releases to identify changes in demand and keep scheduling priorities aligned.\nCoordinate customer claims through Nascote Sales Administration to support timely resolution.\nPartner across departments to coordinate production schedules, align priorities, and continuously improve scheduling processes to reduce disruptions and support customer delivery.\nPlan plant inventories and cycle counts, monitor inventory accuracy, and use discrepancy trends to identify root causes and improve inventory control processes.\nBuild effective customer relationships through clear, timely communication.\nBuild a culture of continuous process improvement by engaging direct reports in identifying waste, developing practical solutions, and improving work quality and productivity.\nEquip employees with the training and information they need to succeed, including updated requirements and improved work methods, so process changes are understood and sustained.\nEnsure direct reports follow all safety, quality, environmental, and BOS policies and procedures.\nSupport employee development through coaching and counseling in accordance with company policies.\nComplete timely performance appraisals that provide clear feedback and direction for direct reports.\nApply disciplinary action when necessary, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees.\nMaintain attendance records, approve time sheets, and manage vacation approvals.\nProvide hands-on technical support to resolve daily issues, identify underlying causes, and implement lasting process improvements that prevent recurrence.\nIdentify skill-development needs and recommend training programs for assigned employees.\nFoster a healthy, positive, and safe work environment.\nMaintain an acceptable attendance record to support consistent department leadership.\nUse supplier delivery ratings and inventory control analysis to prioritize improvement opportunities, implement corrective actions, and verify results.\nSet up and monitor EDI requirements, and improve information-exchange processes to increase accuracy and reduce recurring errors and manual rework.\nSupport new program launches by applying lessons learned and establishing effective Production Control processes that can be refined as production needs evolve.\nLead department meetings to review process performance, capture employee improvement ideas, and track actions and results, ensuring meeting documentation is recorded and maintained.\nLead or support Project Teams, Task Forces, Employee Activity groups, and Safety 8D Teams as required.\nCoordinate departmental staffing actions, including lateral moves, postings, layoffs, and recalls, as needed.\nChampion employee-driven cost-reduction and innovation ideas, turning improvement opportunities into practical changes with measurable results in efficiency, material flow, and delivery performance.\nDevelop, document, and regularly refine department procedures to standardize effective work practices and sustain continuous process improvements.\nPerform other tasks as assigned.\nSkills/Experience Required\nRequired - Five years of experience in production and inventory control.\nRequired - Two years of supervisory experience.\nRequired - Eight years of work experience.\nStrong problem-solving and math skills, with the ability to turn information into practical solutions.\nGood computer skills to support day-to-day Production Control responsibilities.\nA collaborative approach and effective verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and remain focused and effective in high-pressure situations.\nAbility to deliver clear, effective presentations to groups.\nSound judgment and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.\nEducational Requirements\nRequired - B.S. degree in Materials Management.\nPreferred - Training in MRP and inventory control.\nIn special circumstances, candidates with substantial manufacturing experience relevant to this role may be considered without the required education.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust meet the physical demands defined by current production requirements and the job function evaluation.
