Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nThe Quality Technician is responsible for conducting the core quality assurance and quality control inspections to ensure that products meet defined standards, specifications and customer expectations. The role involves inspecting materials and finished products, conducting tests and measurements, analysing data and identifying areas for improvement.\nThe Quality Technician works closely with production, engineering and logistical teams to maintain compliance with internal procedures. They play a key role in identifying non-conformances, protecting downstream customers, assisting with root cause analysis and supporting corrective and preventive actions.\nAdditionally, the Quality Technician helps maintain accurate documentation, participates in audits where required contributes to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process performance and customer satisfaction.\nRole Responsibilities:\nChiefly responsible for conducting core control plan activities; x-ray, GOM scanning, torque testing.\nSupport Engineering and Launch teams by facilitating additional measurement requests as/when required.\nContribute to standard work development and assist in training and rollout.\nSupport GP12/Quality Gate product reviews and data analysis.\nAssist the Quality Engineering team with calibration preparations.\nAct as an appraiser in various MSA activities as/when required.\nTo be computer literate and able to use MS Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint (MiniTab would be an asset).\nTransfer computer literacy to use the business’ MES robustly to aid investigation into identified non-conformances.\nStop processes which are producing non-conforming products.\nBe the voice of quality on the shop floor - lead by example and help to develop business-wide understanding of Quality and its related processes and procedures.\nConduct Quality Process and Product Audits.\nOther duties as required by the Shift Quality Engineer.\nEXPERIENCE:\nEssential\nExcellent communication skills for interfacing with internal stakeholders.\nQuality experience within a shopfloor manufacturing environment.\nStrong analytical skills.\nBasic understanding of the Quality Core Tools - APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA & PPAP.\nProficient with Business Operating Systems in accordance with IATF 16949.\nComputer literacy, transferrable to MES usage.\nDesirable\nDie casting experience.\nExperience using X-ray machine.\nExperience using first principle measuring equipment.\nExperience with tactile/blue light measurement systems (CMM, GOM).\nActive interest in new technological developments.\nQualification in quality/continuous improvement.\nPersonal Attributes:\nGood interpersonal skills with hands-on problem-solving experience.\nSelf-motivated, able to initiate and follow through tasks to completion.\nAnalytical with a data-driven mindset.\nWork collaboratively to achieve project/business goals.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nObjectivity - display the ability to effectively challenge.\nOpen minded to the impact of suggestions from the team.\nEffective communicator through all necessary media.\nEligibility to work in the UK.\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
