Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nMission of the Position:\nThe Software & HIL Test Engineer is responsible for the design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components. Working from broad specifications, the engineer not only performs, but is responsible for guiding engineering activities.\nAs a Software & HIL Test engineer, you will support a team that develops and validates drive systems for future electric and hybrid vehicles as well as other electric drives in motor vehicles. The engineer will work independently to perform a variety of basic engineering assignments with varied responsibility but may require some guidance and direction from a senior engineer/mentor or manager.\n****This role does not include visa sponsorship**** Open to Intermediate and Senior level engineers\nAs an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgement to make adaptations and modifications.\nAs a Senior Engineer, the engineer will independently perform a wide variety of complex/advanced engineering work to include planning, designing, and carrying out work assignments, often serving as a technical authority of the department with little to no supervision. The engineer will mentor and guide less experienced team members.\nKey Responsibilities:\n· Design, development and problem resolution of new and existing software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components for powertrain products.\n· Cascade test specifications from system to components and delivery of test plans and test designs to the specifications.\n· Document detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases.\n· Carrying out software integration tests on the HiL system\n· Conduct research, new tools, best practices and alternative approaches to optimal software development and testing.\n· Supervision of the HiL structure Integrating the system into the Continuous Integration Toolchain (Jenkins)\n· Develop validation product/system practices and procedures for advanced industry technologies like Cybersecurity, Global B and AutoSAR (wherever product relevance).\n· Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.\nRequirements and Qualifications:\nIntermediate\n· Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.\n· 5-7 years of experience in design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components.\n· Knowledge in MATLAB, Simulink, dSPACE toolchains (AutomationDesk, ConfigurationDesk, ControlDesk NexGen) required.\n· Intermediate programming skills in Python and C.\n· Knowledge with writing detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases preferred.\n· ISTQB/ASTQB Foundation test certification preferred.\n· Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.\n· Great interest in e-mobility.\nSenior\n· Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.\n· High level of analytical ability and understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.\n· Experience in MATLAB, Simulink, dSPACE toolchains (AutomationDesk, ConfigurationDesk, ControlDesk NexGen) required.\n· Very good programming skills in Python and C\n· Working knowledge in computer-based software, powertrain controls experience, strong organizational/communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment.\n· Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components.\n· Experience writing detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases.\n· Experience in dealing with dSpace/NI/Vector systems is required.\n· Committed personality with initiative, team spirit and self-organization.\n· Sound knowledge of functional safety (ISO26262) and Cyber Security testing (ISO/SAE 21434) w.r.t software testing.\n· Experience in the field of automotive quality management or software quality assurance based on ASPICE and the ISO 26262 standard is an advantage.\n· ISTQB/ASTQB Foundation or Advanced test certification preferred.\n· Great interest in e-mobility.\nHealth & Safety/Magna Standards/Additional Requirements:\nPractice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.\nFollow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.\nSupports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).\nDrive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.\nComply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.\nHealth & Safety responsibilities:\no Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.\no Report unsafe conditions immediately.\no Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.\no Follow safety rules.\no Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.\no Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.\nCreate a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.\nDevelop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.\nTreat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.\nComplete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nComply with Magna’s information and data protection policies.\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
