Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nJob title:\nSpecialist Hardware Design\nJob Introduction:\nWe are seeking a highly skilled PCB Layout Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience and expertise in designing Power Electronics PCBs with Altium Designer EDA tool. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards for automotive Traction Inverter, Power electronics & Mixed signal electronic systems.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nDevelop, design, validate and optimize complex Power Electronics PCB layouts using Altium Designer, ensuring adherence to IPC standards and best practices.\nPerform PCB Library creation, schematic capture, component placement, routing and generate manufacturing files considering signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC requirements.\nPerform Design rules settings in Altium designer EDA tool following specified Clearance and Creepage standards and other DFM specifications.\nCreate Altium Schematic and Footprint Libraries according to IPC standards and reliable to Manufacturer specifications and managing the database.\nCreate and maintain accurate PCB design documentation, including design guidelines, Fabrication and Assembly Notes/drawings.\nWork closely with hardware engineers, Mechanical engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and software teams to create PCB that meeting required specifications.\nConduct and participate in design reviews, offering insights and suggestions to enhance the functionality and manufacturability of designs.\nEstimate timeline and plan PCB layout workflow and ensure Layout completion within Projected timeline.\nBasic Understanding of circuit design and electronics components characteristics able to do simulations in LTSpice\nKnowledge and Education:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. \nWork Experience:\n5+ years of relevant experience. \nSkills and Competencies:\nHands-on experience in PCB layout design for power electronics, Traction inverters and Converters and motor drives. \nProficiency in Altium Design EDA tool is must.\nCircuit simulation in LT Spice is desirable\nAbility to read electrical schematic and good understanding about hardware design lifecycle.\nBasic understanding of Signal Integrity, Power Integrity and EMI/EMC.\nStrong knowledge in DFM, DFM & DFT.\nSolid understanding of basic Electrical and Electronics principles.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team. \nExperience in the automotive sector is desirable.\nConscientious, precise and independent way of working. \nVery good written and spoken English skills.\nHealth, Safety & Environment (HSE):\nMaintains safe work practices, complies with Magna H&S requirements, and participates in training and hazard reporting.\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
