Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nThis opportunity is from Spring-Summer (January - August) Monday-Friday Full time\nMissionofthePosition:\nWorks within the systems engineering team with the Advanced Systems Engineering team and the Noise, Vibration and Harmonics team, assisting with projects on all different levels throughout the co-op program. Tasks include supporting mechanical/electrical/controls design, industry research, prototype acquisition/assembly, and testing. Position is expected to include hands on learning experience in the lab.\nTeam Summary:\nThe Systems Engineering Team is responsible for providing engineering solutions in powertrain systems. This group is responsible for the design, development and realization of innovative, robust and leading-edge solutions for high volume powertrain applications.\nKeyResponsibilities:\nHelp create new and advanced powertrain and driveline technology through supporting lead engineers in their projects.\nWork with other design and testing departments, guiding and collaborating with functional organization for technology/product concept development.\nMaintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.\nAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nSupports Systems Engineering by assessing and analyzing NVH performance of MPT driveline products.\nAssist with the use of NVH instrumentation, hardware and software.\nWork with the team to improve NVH development methods and the integration into existing/emerging engineering development processes.\nExpected Learning Outcomes:\nExposure to systems engineering executed at a high level on powertrain systems\nTest setup and execution\nProblem-solving skills and experience working with a team\nFundamental understanding of powertrain products noise and vibration performance (traditional and electrified).\nPractical experience in setting up, measuring, and analyzing data in noise and vibrations tests.\nUnderstanding of how product noise and vibration performance affects vehicle quality.\nExperience reporting technical data in written reports, presentations, electronic media and talking in front of an engineering audience.\nRequirements and Qualifications:\nKnowledge in computer-based software, including 3D CAD, strong organizational/communication skills, ability to work with others in a team environment\nMinimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.\nEnrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.\nUnderstand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design\nHealth & Safety/Magna Standards/Additional Requirements:\nPractice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.\nFollow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.\nSupports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).\nDrive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.\nComply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.\nHealth & Safety responsibilities: Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.\n Report unsafe conditions immediately.\n Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.\n Follow safety rules.\n Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.\n Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.\n\nCreate a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.\nDevelop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.\nTreat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.\nComplete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nComply with Magna’s information and data protection policies\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
