Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.\nGroup Summary:\nThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.\nRecognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.\nJob Responsibilities:\nThe Systems administrator is responsible for maintaining the company’s server and storage systems in compliance with Magna IT policies. All aspects of the lifecycle of hardware and software (new, upgrades, and disposal) are a main part of the duties.\nKEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\n1. Server and Server Infrastructure Management:\nOversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all server hardware and software.\nEnsure optimal performance, availability, and security of server systems.\nMonitor server performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.\nEnsure updates of all Servers are completed (Both Virtual Machine and Host Operating Systems)\nMaintain Active support contracts on all server hardware\n2. Storage Systems Management:\nManage all storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and other storage solutions.\nEnsure data integrity, availability, and security across all storage platforms.\nMaintain all updates and support contracts for Storage systems\n3. Server Room Management:\nMaintain the physical and environmental conditions of the server room.\nEnsure proper organization, labeling, and documentation of all server room equipment.\n4. Project Management:\nLead the selection, scoping, installation, and management of new server and storage projects.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.\nEnsure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.\n5. Backup and Disaster Recovery:\nDevelop and implement backup strategies for all servers and data.\nRegularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data can be restored in the event of a disaster.\nMaintain and update disaster recovery plans and procedures.\nPerform and document annual disaster recovery testing\n6. Network Administration\nAdminister and support all network infrastructure including wired and wireless networks, firewalls, switches, routers, and network security systems. sMonitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, maintain network documentation, and implement enhancements to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of the networking environment.\n7. Database Administration and Support:\nAdminister, maintain, monitor, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments and related database systems.\nDevelop/maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for databases.\nSupport business applications by troubleshooting database-related issues.\nCoordinate database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning activities.\nEnsure database availability, performance, integrity, and security through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.\n8. Policy Creation and Maintenance:\nDevelop and maintain departmental policies related to servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery.\nEnsure policies are up-to-date and comply with industry standards and regulations.\nEducate and train staff on relevant policies and procedures.\n9. And any other requirements issued by the General Manager or his designates\nRequirements:\nPost-Secondary Degree/Diploma School Diploma in an IT related field\n2+ years of related work experience in a similar IT Support environment\nCORE COMPETENECIES & SKILLS:\nExcellent analytical and problem solving skills\nCurrent Microsoft Operating Systems\nCurrent Virtual Server Operating Systems (VMware/Hyper-V)\nCisco Switching, Routing, and Wireless Technologies\nMicrosoft SQL Server Administration\nLinux Administration Experience an asset\nDatabase Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery\nStrong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills\nPunctual, independent and tolerant\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nThis position requires occasional after-hours/weekend work for maintenance and upgrades.\nOn-call availability for emergency situations.\nPhysical ability to lift and move server and storage equipment as needed.\nCompensation range: $75,000 -$85,000/ year\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
