Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.\nJob Responsibilities:\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nPerform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects the P&F expectations, Cosma’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.\nFollow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Cosma and P&F rules and regulations.\nContribute to employee suggestion program, continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.\nThe Tool & Die Apprentice will report and be supervised by the Toolroom Supervisors, Team Leader and Assistant General Manager.\nInspect, maintain, repair and modify designated tools as assigned to assist a certified Toolmaker\nAttend and learn how to operate all toolroom equipment within safety standards and prescribed guidelines.\nRemove all contaminated production parts when working on emergency calls at the press.\nAttend and complete with a minimum passing grade of 75%, the government required education\nAttend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard.\nTo produce, maintain and be responsible for work details to document experience.\nTo take on additional responsibilities in years two and three of apprenticeship up to working more independently\nTo carry out all necessary administrative work associated with departmental management requirements\nsuch as using the PDA’s to accurately and timely record all processes from receiving job through to completion including electronic timesheets.\n\nRequisitions die components & related material through P.C.\nTo liaise and work with all other trades and apprentices as required.\nMaintain a clean orderly work area and job site\nInteract with the team members running the line to look for improvements or ideas to improve your/their job/task and improve line Safety, Quality and Productivity.\nPreventative maintenance on equipment - identify weaknesses in design and implement improvements. Take pride in workmanship.\nFollows the rules of 5 S’s.\nHave the right to refuse work based on safety or health concerns.\nWork safely and follow all safety rules at all times.\nReport any unsafe or unhealthy conditions immediately.\nKnow and understand all Magna, Federal, State and Local legislated duties.\nPlay an active role in maintaining housekeeping in the area and ensure that area of responsibility is clean, tidy and organized at all times.\nAttend training as required or as assigned.\nKnow what to do in an emergency.\nKnow the operating instructions for all equipment and processes where you are assigned.
