Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.\nGroup Summary:\nThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.\nRecognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.\nJob Responsibilities:\nGeneral Job Duties\nUnder the direction of the Tooling supervisor and department mentors, learn to perform repairs, maintenance and engineering changes on production molds.\nSpecific Job Duties\nLearn to:\nService and maintain assigned tooling and molds. Clean and service molds in and out of the press. Perform maintenance and repairs on tools in and out of the press. Split molds, operates mold rotator, load and unload trucks and mold carts.\nMakes power, thermocouples and core pull cables. Rebuilds hot runner systems. Services and rebuilds hydraulic cylinders and troubleshoot hydraulic problems with molds.\nOperate various machines such as: lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.\nProperly operate Tool Tugger to transport tools.\nWeld (mig, tig and stick) as required.\nRead drawings and prints.\nAdditionally:\nMaintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.\nMaintains a clean and safe work area.\nParticipates in department meetings.\nCompletes documentation of activities as required.\nSubmits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.\nPerforms other tasks as assigned.\nSkills/Experience Required\nOne year manufacturing experience. One-year continuous work experience.\nMust be able to operate overhead crane to move and set-up tools for tool work.\nMust have good problem-solving skills.\nMust have excellent math skills and basic understanding of SPC principles.\nMust work well with others. Must have good communication skills - both verbal and written.\nEducational Requirements\nRequired: Possess or concurrently pursuing an Associate's Degree in Technical Field with an emphasis in Machining and Welding.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation. See job function evaluation in the Occupational Nurse’s office for more details.
