The role works closely with OEM customers, Magna engineering teams, manufacturing organizations, and suppliers to ensure technical requirements, quality objectives, cost targets, and timing milestones are successfully achieved throughout the product development process.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES\nTechnical Responsibility\nContribute to the MagnaSteyr USAstrategy and growth by supporting Lead Engineering roles and the whole engineering team in areas such as:\nDrivethe design, development, integrationand validationof vehicle systems, components, or complete vehicle programs.\n\nSupport engineering teams in achieving program objectives, performance requirements, and project milestones.\n\nCoordinate definition and management of engineering requirements, specifications, performance targets, and technical deliverables.\n\nDrive concept development activities using set-based engineering and systems engineering principles.\n\nCoordinatecompliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and Magna standards.\n\nParticipate in subsystem and vehicle-level technical reviews and design assessments.\n\nLeaddevelopment and maintenance of DFMEAs, DVP&R documents, requirements management processes, and validation strategies.\n\nOwnand execute component, subsystem, and vehicle-level validation plans, including virtual and physical testing requirements.\n\nCoordinate validation activities with suppliers, test facilities, CAE teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.\n\nSteerroot cause analysis and resolution of technical issues throughout development and launch phases.\n\nCoordinatebenchmarking activities and competitive analysis to identifyimprovement opportunities.\n\nOwnDMU development, virtual vehicle integration, and digital validation activities.\n\nGenerate and maintaintechnical documentation including CTDS, STDS/SSTS, design standards, and engineering reports.\n\nCoordinate CAE requests and ensure timelyprovision of engineering data.\n\nEnsure designs support manufacturing feasibility, production takt time, quality objectives, and cost targets.\n\nSupport prototype, pilot, and production build activities.\n\nSupport issue resolution during vehicle launches and production ramp-up phases.\n\nEMPLOYEERELATEDTASK\nProject Planning, Target Achievement, Monitoring & Reporting\nEmploy technical expertiseto coordinatethe engineering development of one or more subsystems\nSupport Technical Area (TA) core competencies.\n\nSupport and contribute to knowledge base of internal and external best practices.\n\nCoordinatebenchmarking studies and contribute to the benchmark knowledgebase.\n\nPropose and lead advanced development topics supporting thestrategy of Magna Vehicle Engineering USA.\n\nPropose continuous improvement opportunities to level up team skills, qualifications, toolsand processes.\n\nDrivedesign proposals with set-basedengineering principles.\n\nLead designs with 6 Sigma design principles.\n\nExecutecomplex problem solving with cross functional teams.\n\nEnsure cooperation with all areas within the vehicle product developmentand request the required frame conditions\nCoordinate engineering activities with cross-functional teams and suppliers.\n\nExecutetechnical reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.\n\nTrack engineering deliverables and milestone status.\n\nCoordinateissue management, risk identification, and escalation activities.\n\nMaintain project documentation, timing plans, and engineering records\n\nYOUR QUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this role successfully, an individual must consistently deliver against technical, program, and business objectives. Success is measured through achievement of program milestones, timelyresolution of technical issues, successful integration and validation of vehicle systems, delivery of quality, cost, and timing targets, and effective collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. The qualifications below representthe knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience requiredto achieve these outcomes.\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.\n\n+5 years of automotive engineering experience.\n\nExperience in vehicle systems development, body engineering, or vehicle integration.\n\nExperience with engineering release processes and validation activities.\n\nUnderstanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, APQP, problem-solving methodologies, and engineering release processes.\n\nMust have a positive “can do” attitude.\n\nMust be flexible and able to course correct paths according to priority alignment.\n\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in engineering or related discipline.\n\nSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.\n\nCAD and CAE experience.\n\nExperience working with OEM customers and global engineering organizations.\n\nGoodwritten and verbal communication skills.\n\nKnowledge of FMVSS, ECE, GB, and global vehicle regulatory requirements.\n\nComputer knowledge and skills in CAD and CAE simulation preferred.\n\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
