Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSpring/Summer 2027 - January - May: Full Time 40 hours Monday - Friday\nMissionofthePosition:\nThe student will work with the Mechatronics Systems Engineering group to support vehicle calibration, testing, and data analysis activities, while also contributing to system-level development. This team focuses on defining and optimizing control strategies to ensure vehicle performance meets desired outcomes on current and future production programs.\nTeam Summary:\nThe Mechatronics Systems Engineering group is responsible for vehicle-level system verification, calibration, and testing to support new product launches, current product enhancements, and future driveline innovations. In addition, the team defines and develops the mechatronic system-covering control algorithms and electrical architecture-for innovative and leading-edge driveline applications. They work closely with customer and internal requirements, as well as hardware component technologies, to deliver robust design solutions and maintain best practices for mechatronic system development and software control logic. The team also contributes to the development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for both vehicle and system-level validation.\nKeyResponsibilities:\nParticipate in vehicle and system-level testing using standardized methods and practices, including data acquisition and analysis.\nSupport the development, documentation, and verification of mechatronic system control software strategies through simulation, calibration, vehicle evaluation, and peer reviews.\nCollect and analyze data from vehicles, test bench, dyno, and manufacturing environments; assist in root cause investigations and issue resolution.\nCollaborate with the vehicle applications team to define and refine software control logic and calibration strategies.\nAdhere to established quality management systems and follow all relevant policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.\nMaintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safe execution of tasks for self and others.\nContributes to the development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for validation activities.\nPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nExpected Learning Outcomes:Working knowledge of data acquisition tools and techniques.\nExposure to simulation and analysis using MATLAB.\nUnderstanding of electromechanical systems used in driveline applications.\n\nRequirementsandQualifications:\nMinimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.\nEnrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.\nUnderstand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design\nKnowledge in computer-based software, strong organizational/communication skills, and ability to work with others in a team environment.\nThis role may require up to 20% travel to customer locations or other facilities.\nHealth&Safety/MagnaStandards/AdditionalRequirements:\nPractice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.\nFollow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.\nSupports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).\nDrive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.\nComply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.\nHealth & Safety responsibilities: Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.\n Report unsafe conditions immediately.\n Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.\n Follow safety rules.\n Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.\n Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.\n\nCreate a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.\nDevelop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.\nTreat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.\nComplete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nComply with Magna’s information and data protection policies\nAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:\nAt Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
