This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance execution by coordinating labor, materials, contractor resources, documentation, and schedules across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and external partners. The position utilizes MaintainX CMMS and SAP ERP to manage maintenance work processes, inventory, purchasing activities, asset information, and maintenance performance data.\nThe ideal candidate possesses a strong maintenance background, experience coordinating maintenance outages and major repairs, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.\nResponsibilities\nJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThe Maintenance Planner & Storeroom Manager serves as the site's owner of the maintenance planning, scheduling, and materials management processes. This individual is expected to drive execution excellence by ensuring maintenance work is planned, scheduled, and supported with the necessary resources before work begins.\nKey Expectations\nOwn and facilitate the site's weekly maintenance planning and scheduling process.\nDevelop and maintain a backlog of fully planned ready-to-execute maintenance work orders.\nEnsure planned maintenance work is properly scoped, estimated, and supported with required labor, materials, permits, tools, and contractor resources.\nMaintain inventory accuracy of 90% or greater through disciplined inventory management practices and cycle counting.\nEnsure maintenance work orders are fully kitted and materials are available prior to scheduled execution whenever practical.\nServe as the site's subject matter expert and primary administrator for MaintainX maintenance work management processes.\nServe as the site's SAP materials management expert for maintenance inventory, purchasing support, and spare parts management.\nLead planning and preparation activities for annual outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance events.\nPartner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Procurement to improve work execution and minimize equipment downtime.\nChampion data accuracy and process discipline within both MaintainX and SAP.\nSupport a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintenance Planning & Scheduling\nDevelop detailed maintenance work plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and improvement activities.\nReview, prioritize, and plan maintenance work orders within MaintainX.\nCreate comprehensive job plans including:Labor requirements\nEstimated durations\nRequired skills and crafts\nParts and materials\nSpecialized tools and equipment\nSafety requirements and permits\nLockout/Tagout requirements\nContractor requirements as needed\n\nCoordinate weekly maintenance scheduling activities with Operations and Maintenance leadership.\nFacilitate regular planning and scheduling meetings.\nMaintain a backlog of fully planned, approved, and ready-to-execute work orders.\nMonitor schedule compliance and work order completion performance.\nIdentify resource constraints and recommend schedule adjustments as necessary.\nEnsure maintenance documentation and job plans remain current and effective.\nSupport emergency work prioritization while minimizing disruption to planned work.\nOutage and Shutdown Planning\nLead planning and preparation activities for plant outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance events.\nDevelop outage scope documents, schedules, labor requirements, and material plans.\nCoordinate contractor resources and support services required for outage execution.\nEnsure materials, tools, permits, and work packages are available prior to outage start.\nTrack outage progress and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.\nConduct post-outage reviews and document lessons learned to improve future execution.\nStoreroom & Inventory Management\nManage daily maintenance storeroom operations.\nEnsure critical spare parts are identified, stocked, and reviewed regularly.\nMaintain inventory levels that support operational reliability while minimizing carrying costs.\nConduct cycle counts and annual physical inventories.\nMonitor and improve inventory accuracy.\nIdentify and eliminate obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory.\nEstablish and maintain accurate equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs).\nCoordinate replenishment activities and inventory optimization efforts.\nManage vendor relationships related to maintenance materials and services.\nExpedite critical parts and services to support maintenance and production requirements.\nEstablish and maintain appropriate min/max inventory levels for critical components.\nCMMS Responsibilities\nMaintain accurate asset, equipment, inventory, and work-order data.\nAdminister maintenance work management processes within MaintainX.\nManage preventive maintenance programs and scheduling.\nMonitor work-order quality and planning effectiveness.\nEnsure equipment history is complete and accurate.\nGenerate reports and metrics supporting maintenance performance and decision-making.\nSAP Responsibilities\nManage inventory transactions and material records.\nSupport purchasing activities through requisition and purchase order processes.\nMaintain material master data and storeroom records.\nSupport vendor and supplier management activities.\nEnsure alignment between MaintainX and SAP data where applicable.\nMonitor and improve data integrity across both systems.\nSafety & Compliance\nPromote and uphold all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.\nEnsure all planned work includes required safety precautions and regulatory requirements.\nVerify permits, isolation plans, lockout/tagout requirements, and job hazards are identified during planning.\nParticipate in safety observations, audits, and investigations as required.\nSupport environmental, regulatory, and company compliance initiatives.\nEnsure contractors understand and comply with site safety requirements.\nTeamwork & Communication\nBuild effective working relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, vendors, contractors, and service providers\nCommunicate maintenance priorities, schedule changes, material availability, and outage plans effectively.\nSupport maintenance supervisors and technicians by ensuring work packages are complete and executable.\nFoster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.\nServe as a trusted resource for maintenance planning and materials management best practices.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.\nMinimum 3 years of maintenance planning, scheduling, outage coordination, or maintenance leadership experience.\nStrong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance practices.\nExperience developing detailed maintenance job plans and coordinating maintenance resources.\nExperience planning and executing maintenance outages, shutdowns, and major equipment repairs.\nDemonstrated experience managing maintenance storerooms, inventory control systems, and spare parts programs.\nAdvanced proficiency using CMMS software, with MaintainX experience strongly preferred.\nWorking proficiency in SAP, including inventory management, purchasing processes, material master maintenance, and storeroom transactions.\nStrong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.\nExperience in paper converting, tissue manufacturing, consumer products manufacturing, or other continuous-process industries.\nExperience managing contractors during outages and maintenance projects.\nExperience supporting capital projects and equipment
